Weird question - How easy is it to ruin hard drives?

Okay, this is going to be very strange, so bear with me.

I didn't format a HD for an Xbox 360 S I threw away. It has my account on it. -_- Yes, yes. I'm an idiot.

The question is, how long can that thing bake in the garbage before it's unusable? I'm kind of freaking out that someone's going to sift through the trash at some point and discover it.

I still use this account on my Xbox One.

Please let me know what you think. Anything would be appreciated.

Dragons... Weak?

That's the question Bob. I have a very hard time listening to anybody telling me how easy it is to kill this or kill that when they're playing on easy or normal or even medium.



Play it on Master, then you can tell me what's easy and what's not because until you do you just don't know.



I haven't found an easy dragon, an easy troll, an easy bear or an easy sabre-cat yet.

Unless the HDD is physically damaged, i.e. hit with a large heavy object like a hammer, and if it is still in the protective case and inside the console itself then it could last a while.

If you're that worried... change your password!

 

Or you could just go to a friends house who has an Xbox 360 console and plug the drive into their console in order to format it.

 

It is not in the console. It's in the garbage. It went out in the barrel. That's the point. I threw it out without formatting it.

 

I see. That may be an issue if someone were to find the drive. I'd recommend changing the password and email on the account as soon as possible then to prevent something like that from happening.

 

You can also visit
live.xbox.com/.../Protection from your account that the gamertag in question is on. You can then choose "require profile download" this will require any console (or in your case a hard drive with a profile that could be attached to a console" to redownload
your profile requiring email and password.
