Weird ONE X issue.

Hey guys, thinking of attempting to get my xbox replaced. Issue im having is when i go to bed i press the power button once (instant on mode) and go to bed. When i wake up and turn it on, it will make the chim sound like its about to boot then shut itself
down fully like a hard reset. I then turn it on and play as normal with no issue so its not over heating.

It also only seems ti do it when left for extended periods. If i turn it off and go out for an hour come back and turn it on its fine. Just over night.

Is this is beginning of something serious?

Am ok with it being a software bug as long as it's not a hardware bug but so far seems software related maybe it could be addressed with a system update also am in the preview program as well

I think I am having the exact same problem. Screen flashes on and off when switching to the One Guide. Microsoft don't respond to anything. I have resorted to switching the display settings to 60hz, that seems to fix the flashing screen issue, but it does
cause a few glitches with Sky TV.

 

Maybe it is, maybe not. Contact also MS support with explanation and if they tell you to replace the xbox, than replace it. It is better before something worse can happen. Never had issues from times I have bought Xbox One.

I don't think you'll need to get it replaced. You don't have to worry, it is a known issue and they're investigating it.

Look out for future console updates and see if that solves the problem.

 

Wish i had seen this sooner. I formatted it and took it back to the store. Even though it was 9 months old they replaced it no problems, even exchanged it for a white one x forza edition.

I guess i was better safe than sorry. Atleast thats one thing off my mind now.

Just hoping my 8TB Xbox Game Hub doesnt cause the same issue it did with the other console.

This could be a side effect from a bad update so the problem might be on the actual OS of the console so we would suggest a
Soft Factory Reset
(while keeping games and apps) IF AND ONLY IF THE FOLLOWING CRITERIA IS MET:

• There is a stable network connection.
• The information for all profiles is known (email and passwords)

Once the setup is complete it will ask if we want to keep settings or manual setup lets do manual setup. Give it a shot and let us know of any changes!

 

I left my new console on "instant on" last night while i went to bed.

Nothing connected to it. Came down and pressed the power button to turn it on. It chimed , went to load and shut down exactly like the last one did. So i think the guy above is right, its someybing to do with the last update.

 

Dis you try clesring your cache by holding down the power button on your console for 10 seconds ?

This procedure, although a little more involved, does remove the update and replaces it with another copy of it. What we are hoping to accomplish is to clear the update issue up since the original problem seems to be caused by it. Give it a shot and let
