Weird issue with new headphones

My old headphones worked fine, but my new ones play some sounds, but not all of them, very quietly. Even weirder, turning on noise cancellation stops the issue. This happens throughout my Xbox One and through both of my controllers, but not on any other
devices.

New 3.5mm Xbox One controllers don't seem to output sound unless a mic is detected?

I am having a similar issue with the new Master Chief controller for Xbox One. When I use my ear buds (without mic) I get sound through the controller and everything works fine. When I use my new headphones (over ear Bluetooth/aux capable) with the 3.5mm
cable it detects the headphones but does not play sound. The headphones work on all of my other devices with 3.5mm jack.

We can't get the mute icon to go away, we've tried everything...new headphones, new controllers. I've tested the headphones and they are working fine on other devices. Searching, I see this is a reported issue with many people having the same problem,
but I see no fix. Please help!.

Hi there!

Sounds like there might be a compatibility issue going on or a connection issue.

Are you using a receiver with your console and TV by chance?

Let's ensure that the headset works properly with the console by trying all of the steps on the

Connecting Compatible headsets guide,

and also try the Headset troubleshooter to make sure all the connections are good.

Post back and let us know how that goes!

This seems like a weird issue. Theres a possibility that there is something in the aux port where you plug in the headphones that is causing the problem. You coukd try cleaning that out and see if that helps

Here is the weird thing though, when I plug in my apple headphones, it makes that pop noise. Like whenever you plug it in and you hear the noise go through the headphones.

Maybe your headphone is compatibility, and I ran into this issue. I had to purchase a new headphone set; hopefully, you will get this fix soon. Happy Gaming

That's pretty geeky, surely you can see that? It seems like you're only thinking about this from your perspective. Think of what the average non gamer would think about someone spending that much on gaming headphones. Most people won't even spend 50 on normal
headphones. These sensor things would seem weird at first but if they deliver what they promise it would be foolish to shun them because they might make you feel awkward using them. Times change, things get weird.
