Weird issue with my controller

Hey guys,

So I have this strange issue with my controller. I got an Xbox One x console a few weeks ago since two of my friends from school have it. I've noticed that sometimes when I press the X circle button on the controller, I think it's
the home button? (not the blue x button); that the button turns off my TV sometimes. Weird, I know.... My controller is the one that came with my console. It doesn't do it all the time but it's done it like twenty times today and like a few times in the past five
days.

I decided to look for a solution and one of the links lead me to this site and since one of my friends, she said I could post here since this is the Xbox site. Is it an issue with the controller or the console? I've tried pressing the sync button on my console
and controller but it still happens sometimes. My TV is a: SONY X80E, which was my Xmas present from December.

I got the console from J B Hi Fi still have the receipt. I did pop in today cause I needed some more earphones. They said to check if my console is up to date. And if the issue continued I could pop back in next week and they'll exchange the unit since it
still has a warranty. So I checked and my console said something like "No Updates Available".

It doesn't happen all the time, well, today it happened like twenty times! which is the most it's done that in one day. But does anyone know why this happens? My boyfriend I think found it a bit funny but strange, he called it an April Fools prank.

I think I might just go back and do an exchange of the controller if this continues. The cashier said I could exchange the whole unit if I wanted to.

So is it a problem with an update, console or controller? Any suggestions would be gr8. Cheers!

Weird controller issue

Hey guys,

Wondering if any of you have had this issue. I am able to control my Xbox one with my spare controller when on the dashboard. But when I start up battlefield 4 it won't control anything. My other controllers will work. I have tried updating the controller
and hard resetting the console but no luck.

I have a problem with one of my 360 controllers. When I use it when paying a game, the character on screen sometimes wont move. I will have to pull the thumbstick back and push it foreword again for the character to move and even then they will only move
about a foot before stopping again. This has happened across multiple games. my other 360 controller works fine. any help would be appreciated

 

I suppose your tv is still under warranty since that tv is a 2017 model, i actually have the 43" model. But its most likely an issue with the xbox controller.

If youre still having issues in a few days time, take it back and theyll give you a new controller. Remember the controller manufacture limited 90 day warranty doesnt apply, in NZ the government extends it to a 12 month warranty under your rights.

 

Shweet. Yea it played up twice again tonight. I'll do an exchange on Saturday then since it's the last week of term 1 xD. My dad got the TV a week before Xmas so yeah it's still in it's warranty and it's a great TV too. He rang Sony and after troubleshooting,
they said it could be a glitch with the controller, something like possible misinterpreted Wi-Fi commands or something from the controller. So exchange it is! Thanks!

 

Can you try connecting your controller to the console with a USB cable and using it like this to see what happens?
