  1. Weird HDMI issue

Whats up everyone. So I'm having an issue that I have seen in several different forums and I'm coming here first hand to hopefully get some sort of resolution (no pun). I recently had the craving to go back and play The Elder Scrolls IV Oblivion so I dug
my Xbox 360 out of the closet, hooked it up and Off to the Races I went. Sure enough my son saw me playing it and also wanted to experience the legend that is TES IV. I dig out the second Xbox 360 S and hook it up to his TV, connect the HDMI cord and power
it on all for it to say not supported on the television. I take the same Xbox 360 into my room and plug it into my cords and it comes on my TV just fine. I then take my cables into his room and hook them to his TV but again his Xbox does not display anything
but the power button flashes green and I can actually eject the disc tray by blindly spamming A.

If there are no Direct fixes for this issue my second question becomes If I just buy the AV cord will the Xbox work on his TV?

    Thank you for your time.

    :)

    Hello

When you have the console connected to your television can you please try going into the setting on the console and change the output resolution on the console? You will probably find the resolution has been set to 1080 I would suggest lowering this to 720
then try connecting it to your son's television and hopefully you will now have an image displayed.

Xbox 360 Video | TV or Monitor | Xbox 360 Console

Alternatively please try the instructions below with the console connected to your son's television to reset your consoles display settings as guided

    here
    .

    1. Remove any discs from the disc tray.
    2. Turn off the console.
    3. Turn on the console.
Note If you are using an Xbox 360 Wireless Controller, turn on the console by using the Guide button on the controller. Make sure that you use the player 1 controller when you do this. The player 1 controller
will have the upper-left light illuminated.
    4. As the console starts, on the controller, press and hold Y while pulling the right trigger. The display settings are reset to the default settings, and then the console automatically restarts.

Try different HDMI cords or HDMI inputs on your son's TV (if available). Since the Xbox 360 S is displaying fine on your own TV, the issue seems to lie with either a bad cable or a TV issue, according to what you've said.

See what happens when you use a different HDMI cable, even the one you used to plug the Xbox into your TV. If needed, you could find HDMI cables at the dollar store.

Xbox one x issues, intermittent black screen

I agree with the previous posts its probably a HDMI or hardware issue but if the HDMI change isnt working for all issues i usually recommend unplugging the xbox for 5-10 minutes to clear the cache and make sure there isnt any corrupt data causing weird
    glitches

    Display Issues

Its weird that I tried this and it didn't work before but now it solved the issue. I set my Xbox to HDMI instead of "Auto Detect" then I manually set my resolution back to 1080 and now it is displaying properly again. Weird!
