    Weird and Wireless headsets audio issues


    Hey guys and gals. I have two Xbox one's first one is the original generation (big fat suckker) and the One S. My problem is *And it don't matter if I use my elite controller or the one that came with the XB1S or if it is plugged in via the usb cable or not* weird and wireless headsets keep dropping audio out and stuttering. Issue is more prevalent on the wireless head set. I have a Plantronics RIG400 gaming headset and the wireless headset is the PDP Systems Afterglow AG9+ "uses a usb dongle to work". with the rig400 "or any other 3.5mm headset" plugged into either controller on either console the audio will skip and get distorted "controller does not lag or disconnect and both have the most recent firmware" This happend weather the controllers are plugged in via the charge and play cable or via battery. Now the AG9+ headset work just fine. Already ruled them out as having no issues. I can plug the dongle into my pc "windows 10 home x64" and there is no dropouts at all even when having a conversation with buddys over discord or the xbox companion app "via streaming to the pc" I've tried resetting the console to factory defaults and power cycling and it will still do this on both consoles.

    Honestly it is very annoying when trying to have a competitive game with someone else and very distracting. Also ruins it for any other purpose.

    This audio issue does not carry over to the TV via HDMI or the optical out. Everything is set to bitstream and dolby digital and headset options are stereo uncompressed.

    Yesterday (12/1/2021), I experienced extremely choppy audio in Warzone. Thinking this may be a wireless issue, I unplugged the XBox Wireless Adapter and used the USB-C port for audio (USB-C to USB-C). Guess what? I still had choppy audio on the Xbox Wireless headset! I switched to an older 3.5 mm headphone, and the audio was fine.

    I think switching to a wired headset is a good idea at this point, as the Scruffy Fuzzy said above.

    Hi, I hope you're doing great out there despite the issue that you're experiencing. I am an Independent advisor and I am here to help you in regards to your concern.

    Make sure your headset is updated with the latest firmware. On Xbox X|S, you can access the Accessories app in the Settings menu: Profile & system > Settings > Devices & connections > Accessories.
