Weekly console bonus and play a game on console not working this week?

That definitely sounds frustrating—you and your wife are putting in the game time like usual, and the weekly console quests just aren't tracking the way they should. It’s annoying when you’re doing everything right and still not getting credit, especially when it works fine most weeks.

There are a few things you can try to help the system catch up and recognize your playtime properly:

1. Make sure you're signed in on the profile earning the rewards

Sometimes switching profiles or playing under a second account can affect tracking. Make sure the Xbox account that’s earning Rewards Points is the one actively signed in and playing, especially if you’re alternating between accounts.

2. Launch the game from the Rewards app directly

From your console:

Open the Microsoft Rewards app

Go to the Console Weekly Set

Select the “Play a game” or “Play on console” quest

Use the "Start" or "Launch Game" button to open your game

This helps the system track activity more reliably. Manually launching the game from the Rewards app makes a big difference when tracking feels spotty.

3. Try playing a Game Pass title if you're unsure which games qualify

Some quests—especially "Play a Game on Console"—are tied to Game Pass. If you’re playing owned games that aren’t part of Game Pass, it might not register.

Try this:

Open any Game Pass title (even if you only play for a few minutes)

Keep it running for 5–10 minutes

Then exit and check your Rewards progress

4. Progress delay is common late in the week

Tracking sometimes gets delayed, especially over weekends or just before the weekly reset. If it’s Sunday or Monday, it's not unusual for progress to take a few hours to update—even overnight in some cases.

They can manually review your activity and restore missing points if something failed to register.

Unfortunately this will likely never happen as Xbox live is required to play anything online on an Xbox console. Have you signed up for the Rewards program? It's a great little way to get yourself Xbox live (or even Game Pass Ultimate) for free by doing
some bing searches every day along with doing a few fun little poll's and quiz's (the quizzes take 1 minute max), and sometimes its just little bits of information on pretty much every subject possible. If you're interested click

Also there is a reward app you can download on any Xbox one console which usually gives a few more points each day/week. sometimes it's to have a look at featured games (which in the past has got me to find a hidden gem I never knew existed) along with
a daily achievement bonus and weekly bonus. There is a weekly punchcard that gets you a extra points that if you complete each week builds up into big bonuses (today i got the 30 week streak and gained 2500 additional points)

You don't get 2500 weekly...you only get it as a one-off every 10 weeks. So:

Weeks 21-29: You get your usual 100 points

Week 30: You get your usual 100 points plus the 2500 point bonus

Weeks 31-39: Usual 100 points

Week 40: 100 points plus 2500 bonus

With a gold subscription on the console you get access to discounts on games weekly as well as free games for the 360 and One. Some of the games may also work for the PC if they are Play Anywhere games.

Similar issues for me too. The weekly set is OK, I completed it early last week and it's working OK so far this week (just as well because I reach the 20 week streak 2500 point bonus next week), but for the last 3 days the 50 point "earn any achievement
" daily quest has refused to unlock. I'm 150 points down so far.
