WebView 2 Runtime not installing? Not able to sign in on a pc game pass game. (windows 10)

Hello all, I'm having a really hard time trying to install webview2 runtime. I'm a brand new pc game pass member on a gaming laptop and I wanted to give grounded a try. Downloaded the game fine, launched the game fine, but when it does launch it tells me i need webview2 runtime to sign in.

I press install, i see a glimpse of an xbox symbol and then nothing. Click install again and then error.

The game is literally unplayable without this framework (unless this isnt supposed to happen). I went ahead and tried to download it from the microsoft website but when i try to execute the setup of the install literally nothing happens or pops up so im honestly having 2 problems here. i try running as admin and everything. Ive tried uninstalling the game and reinstalling it, ive tried repairing the xbox app and gaming services, ive updated my computer. im out of ideas, if anyone has a fix please let me know, thank you.

Thank you for contacting the Xbox support forums. Before we attempt to troubleshoot further, are you able to download other game titles or is it only Grounded that is giving you this error when you try to play the game?

In the meantime, please try to download: Xbox Identity Provider to see if that might resolve the error.

For sign in issues, please make sure that you are also signed into the same account that has access to Game Pass Ultimate through the Microsoft Store app. You can do this by opening the Microsoft Store app, visit the top right corner of the app window, then sign in with the same account.

If the error continues, please answer the question listed above so we can see if this is an Xbox App error or an error with Grounded.

Hey to answer your question, the other title ive tried so far which is "Anvil" launches and operates fine. I tried to install the xbox identity provider but there is no install button for me when i open the app in the store for some odd reason even though it says my machine meets all the requirements. I also did double check to make sure all the account sign ins are the same so that isnt the issue. As of today i am still having the sign in issue with the title "Grounded"

They may have more details as to why the game is requesting a WebView2 framework. If they are able to provide a viable solution, please respond back to this thread if you are able.

I signed up for XBL Ultimate right after E3. And I have not been able to install games on my Windows 10 PC ever.

I've tried many times, but I always get prompted to sign up for Game Pass for PC.
