Weather app for the Xbox one.

I like the Weather app on Windows 8. I think it would be great to see this app on the Xbox one.

what we really need

I use intellicast weather app for iphone and android for weather radar and storm tracking.

 

Will The Xbox One be able telling us the weather forecast of the week?

there are some really nice weather apps on windows phone. id imagine they will be improved/ported as x1 apps.

its free and has a nice live tile. it will show current weather and for the next 3 days, maybe more if i stretch it out to a wider tile but i like it how it is now. and ofcourse you can go into the app and get more detailed weather information for various
locations.

 

If it took little-to-no effort to port over then yeah sure, why not? But seriously, it's not really something that's needed. The reason those apps are on PC and phones is because they're always on and instantly accessible, I can't imagine anybody firing
up their Xbox just to see if they need to wear a jacket or not.

 

Then again...

The unified app store that MS has announced will make it possible to simply throw this onto Xbox One, give it controller commands, and you are done.

 

I always thought it would be a good idea to have a NWS app that would allow you to opt in for local severe weather announcements and things like that while gaming.

 

I support it.

The more features the better.

As long as all features get tuning as needed.

 

We should see a big increase in apps coming to the Xbox One once all the stuff MS announced at Build kicks into gear. I see no reason why it wouldn't be easy to port a weather app, as it's not like it has complicated functions.

 

I set my internet explorer home page to weather... that's my fix for no weather app.

Sorry, I do not feel this is the platform for this. Don't you already have it on your PC/Phone/Tablet etc?

 

Not bad idea. I like it. My PC not working. And not always on my phone. Because it charging.

 

I don't think it could harm anything - in fact, it might help you stay dry.

I'm sorry, but I keep the windows drawn to prevent light from glaring onto my TV screen.

On a slightly sad note, I can't tell you how many times I've walked out the door only to be surprised that it was raining. :|

 

Weather fascinates me...... especially late June early July..... big storms..... love it! Local weather warning to come across your X1 game screen........ AWESOME!
