Weapons in MP Level Difference

I was just wondering if the weapons in MP are overpowered? I mean I've been in matches with level 20s while I was level 10 for example. Surely their weapons and armour are better than mine? Sometimes I feel like I could be shooting at them for ages and then
they take me out with one shot.

I consider myself to be a decent player on the MP, having my bad and good games as we all do, but sometimes I do think that the matchmaking isn't the best on this?

Anyone feel the same?

How do I beat Platinum Solo?

The difference between a level 1 and a level x weapon is different for each weapon but the difference is quite large. A level 1 csmg isn't that great a level x is probably the best smg in the game. It may not have anything to do with player skill but a level
x weapon can make you look a lot more like a hero IMO. A good player can take a level 1 and do work with it, an average player can take a level x and destroy stuff(depending on the weapon of course).

 

there is no lvl advantage in pvp, its like cod the only thing that matters is your weapons impact and firerate, the weapons "attack" has no effect what so ever.

also armor is equal, the only diff in armor is your class rateing for armor/recovery/agility.

sounds like u need to find a better weapon for your play style.

 

There must be. Otherwise the armour and weapons you get are pointless in the game? There are games where I'm one shotted by seemingly anything and I don't exactly have rubbish armour. But they guys that seem to one shot me are level 27/28s etc. So obviously
they have the better weapons and armour?

 

everything is equal! its all about the headshots and heavy ammo!

 

So, a level 1 is able to take down a level 25 just as easy as a level 25 would take down a level 1?

 

yes, but you cant play pvp until lvl 5 or something, all armor and weapons are equal its specials heavies and playstyle that matter, upgrade attributes that don't affect dmg or armor rating still count, firerates like he said cooldowns and the like

 

The upgrades you have on your weapons and amour still take effect in MP, so if you upgrade faster reloading, quicker melee, etc etc are still relevent but everything else is levelled out, except from what I understand in iron banner events.

 

It says right in the game that level advantages are disabled for the crucible. Just as everyone else has stated your level has nothing to do with multiplayer. In fact, the first gun you get during the story(the one you pick up) is one of the better guns
in multiplayer because it has virtually NO recoil and shoots rather fast. It beats out my legendary auto rifle(which is clunky and lots of recoil).

 

Higher level people have gun and armor that can provide significant advantages. As an extreme example, a level 5's common pulse rifle isn't going to do a thing against, say, Bad JuJu. Instant reload and other advantages means that the level 5 is worse off
automatically.

Not to mention having armor that increases melee speed, or the advantages bestowed with levelling up. Higher jumps, better melee attacks, more grenades, invisibility, self-resurrection... lower levels can't do a thing in the face of stuff like that.

I think "Iron Banner" will be what you're looking for. The devs haven't opened it up for the public yet, but when they do I think that will be the PvP that will allow armor and weapon advantages. Every PvP game type right now
has no real level advantage. Like someone said before, impact and fire rate (not sure about sub-class set ups) are the only real differences right now. I think the Iron Banner will be where you can take your toys for a real test drive.
