    Hi All, I've been having this issue for a long time now. Not sure if developers are ever going to fix. Seemed to work much better back before the major update changing whole UI and slowed it down. Anyways, wanted let others know that I found the xbox
    app on my galaxy s6 can actually turn it on. I got excited when it found it on network with the moon symbol just like my windows 10 desktop can see it except it doesn't turn it on. Anyways it beats having to go physically turn it on since I usually have
    my phone on me. Based on this, its a windows issue....not network.

    I have the same issue as everyone else. I've used both the Xbox App and the Xbox Beta App, same issue on both. Odd thing for me is it'll typically turn the console on from the app but won't acknowledge it and can't stream after that. I just rebuilt my
    pc, all new hardware and fresh Win10 install and have the exact same issue as I did my old one. Really the only thing I've found is to reboot my pc, after that it seems to connect ok. As soon as I power it off and stop streaming though I have the issue again.
    I'm tried restarting all the Xbox services to no avail.

    Even when the app will power the console on (but not acknowledge it), I've tried removing the console from the app and re-adding it (since I know the console is on and it should find it again). As soon as I try to Add a device it instantly fails like it's
    really not even looking for it. Pretty sad a 2+ year old issue that they claim to be working on hasn't been solved yet. I have 2 consoles and have this problem on both versions of the Xbox One app.

    Holy SMOKES! After months of frustrations with this problem I just posted the message above. Then I stumbled upon this

    I've been convinced there is a service running that's involved since a simple reboot usually resolves my problem. Sure enough at the bottom of that article it mentions "checking" 4 of them for how they're set. I've already tried restarting and/manually
    starting the Xbox ones many times in the past. However, this time I restarted the "IKE and AuthIP IPsec Keying Modules" and BAM! Worked perfectly. In fact as I said above the app will actually power the console on but won't acknowledge that it did so or
    connect to it after that. As soon as I restarted that service and opened the app up it saw that the console was on and streamed from it immediately.

    I solved this by disabling ALL network adapters except the ethernet adapter I use on my Win10 PC. (run: ncpa.cpl)

    That actually resolved it on my end as well. Shouldn't have to disable all the network adapters, though. Hopefully they'll fix the client so it actually doesn't get stuck on network adapters for vlans like DockerNAT, etc.

    This worked for me as well. I had to disable my virtual adapters and wireless adapters to get it to turn on. This needs to be fixed.

    Hi Bestlano. Just got my Xbox One, and new to this forum. I have streaming working fine but have this same issue of not being able to remotely re-connect on the same 'flat' network after the Xbox One is supposedly in stand-by mode (config instant-on). This
    post appears to be 2 years old and lingering a slow death with developers aware and investigating. I have tried all the suggestions in earlier posts but none work. Are the developers not able to reproduce the problem? Xbox one instant-on, put to sleep, unable
    to be woken from windows 10 Xbox app nor SmartGlass. Device pingable for short time but then not pingable. I can reproduce at will. If there is a known solution please let me know else please let me know the correct escalation path as I am not part of the
    beta program, which I assume is no longer in beta now that the applications are general availability. Please advise. Thanks!

    It ends up that the problem was due to a NAT issue. I noticed the XB1 was reverting to a 'moderate' NAT status for whatever reason so I stopped using UPNP and set up static port-forwarding rules and voila (vwa-la). Perhaps this will help someone else resolve
    their issue, so hopefully no harm done indulging a noob. Cheers!

    Still having this issue. I have 4 different windows PC's/Surfaces that I can test with, wired or wireless 98% I cannot turn on my xbox with the app. It used to work great, last few updates just wrecked it. Very frustrating as the streaming aspect was one
    of the main reasons I bought this xbox.

    I would like it for a developer to comment here.

    I'll repeat my findings...the problem is likely not in the app...assuming the Xbox is supposed to answer to pings when in standby, because it doesn't.. That's why neither smartglass nor App can wake it. Sometimes shortly after a shutdown the Xbox is pingable
    again..and can be woken up by apps.

    So, the problem seems to be some kind of Wake-On-Lan issue when in standby.

    Another interesting piece of info is that if you trigger a download through smartglass, it makes the Xbox pingable again.

    Developers...what do you think of these findings?
