May I ask, respectfully of course, if Phil Spencer said tell Epic you want Gears, why are you on the xbox one forums pleading for it?

The trial, based on the article, is taking place over a decade ago, with the actions that got Kilo in trouble being told via flashbacks and narration during the trial. So there's zero problem with squeezing everything in before the events of the first Gears
trilogy. As for Gears of War 4, there won't be a Gears 4 in terms of a direct sequel to it, so whether Baird and Cole would have anything to do with it is questionable. As Epic said, Gears of War 3 was the end of that trilogy, and of Dom and Marcus's story,
so it's possibly that Cole and Baird could be involved in a Gears of War 4 type game, but the ending of Gears 3 doesn't leave much room for a sequel, like the article says.

 

literally love the GoW series and i cannot wait for another one - as long as they get it right.

Too many people were afraid of change and that ruined judgement. All they wanted was shotguns and wallbouncing

 

Gears should have concluded with 3. The more sequels they churn out the more the series gets stale.

 

The campaign in Judgement sucked. And that's the only reason I play the series.

 

Damn you Microsoft! I would have rather had Black Tusk working on a new IP, than Gears. Good news for those of you that are into the Gears franchise, who knows Black Tusk's version may get me hooked.

 

As long it isn't as bad as judgment. I've enjoyed every gears except for that one. It felt more like a DLC and they messed up the MP. I mean to leave out a simple but important thing like DBNO(down but not out) in team death match was silly.

 

I've never been a big fan of Player Vs Player MP on Gears, I've always enjoyed the campaign and co-op modes though ( even on Judgement lol ) so I do look forward to it for that reason

 

I've always been a big fan of the campaigns in Gears, about midway through the second one it had gotten so deep and there were so many new things to explore like the back story and the character profiles.

I never played Judgement but I'm fully looking forward to a new game. No matter who makes it, it will be a day one buy and if it sucks then it sucks and it can stay on the shelf.

 

That's not such a bad idea actually. I love Mario and Zelda but honestly, if Nintendo just let them lye dormant for a while and came back them it could actually do both series wonders.

 

Epic got already some "trouble" to make a new Unreal Tournament,hopefully Microsoft is here to bring Exclusives on Xbox platforms.

 

Mario and Zelda won't stay dormant because they're console sellers. Even I nearly bought a Wii U to get the new Mario and Luigi U games until I came to my senses. If a young family decide they want to get in on the latest Mario Kart craze for Saturday nights
in, they'll buy the console to do it.

Gears is the same, as is Halo. Both are strong franchises that people love and will buy an entire console to play the latest one. If those were left to gather dust then Microsoft would have to obtain whole new IPs to sell consoles and that carries the risk
of spending millions and not getting enough back. From a business point of view it makes more sense to carry over old, almost stale games to bring people in. Titanfall could be considered an exception to this but even that carries the tag "from the key developers
of Call of Duty" on the back of the case and huge amounts of marketing.

 

Most prequels don't do well so I don't think it was a surprise to anyone about Judgment not doing well. I do truly love the GOW series. Very unique and an amazing co-op campaign trilogy. I also enjoy horde and beast mode. GOW3 was my favorite. I
don't play the vs mp. Never liked it. The rest is amazing and it will be interesting to see where the series goes from here on the X1.
