    We want to rip music to our Xbox One consoles.


    It is mind-blowing how Microsoft has decided to intentionally block the ability to rip music to the hard drive. For a simple feature that has been around since the first Xbox, you would expect the functionality to remain.

    I want to rip my CDs to my Xbox One so that I can listen to the music I like as background music in game. I dont want to have to put on a separate audio source in the room like my computer or phone.

    Microsoft, you have created a basic CD Player. You now need to expand upon that and allow us to rip songs to our console and allow us to play music while games are running.

    If you continue to ignore and frustrate your loyal supporters you will not have loyalty for long. The user interface is so frustrating for this console and little things like the lack of support of ripping an audio CD show how this product is going to fail
    as consumers will move towards a superior product.

    I strongly urge anyone to bump this thread until Microsoft shows that they are listening to their customers and the reasonsble requests they make.

    Hello "Goatsnatcher" We want to rip music to our Xbox One consoles. :)

    I am still hoping that we will have the ability to rip our music CDs into the Xbox One, but I'm not too optimistic about it seeing as how music CDs are now considered "ancient".

    Hello everyone We want to rip music to our Xbox One consoles. :)

    I am still waiting for the update that will allow us to rip our CDs into the Xbox One's HDD and then play our music any time that we want to WITHOUT having to sacrifice any screen space just like the Xbox 360.

    Apparently, people have forgotten the history of the Xbox console...

    Original Xbox = Introduced the Custom Soundtrack with some games because you could rip music into the HDD

    Xbox 360 = Took the Custom Soundtrack to the next level by allowing the user to play their ripped music from the HDD anytime that they wanted to.

    Xbox One = It took away all of this functionality completely

    Open tray or mixed media disk

    Humor me for a few seconds and try this. Get a music disc, an original music disc, not one that has been burned. Place that into your xbox and select "Rip Music". Wait until the music has been fully "Ripped" to the HDD. Once this has finished, place the
    game disc into the console and try playing.

    This should work. :)

    Wait, I haven't heard about any limitations with music. Can we not rip music to the Xbox One like we did with the 360? I have a HUGE collection of CD's and would be PISSED if this was the case. If your touting this as an all in one entertainment center then
    you better have good music options.
