If you think voice messages are SPAM, I don't know how you could put up with the SPAM on this forum. Lots upon lots of peps with there own opinions expressed on this forum. Peps keep on making posts upon posts here. Imagine if you could leave voice posts
on this forum, ouch I wouldn't see you on here... Just joking it's a Saturday night for me. Xbox is also for "7-14 year olds", not just oldies. I was even considering writing a letter to Microsoft then mailing it to Redmond ;P

 

PSS- goth....how about you lower your "anti COD" nose a bit and play the games you like, without insinuating that I am somehow playing a game type that is beneath you. I have experienced the same SPAM in quite a variety of game genres.

 

If the spammers want to spam they will, verbally or in text, I get a few fan letters when playing BF 4, usually after tagging the same sniper in the same spot for the sixth time in a row lol, report it and move on, I would do the same with voice spam, report
and move on.

 

PSSS-smiles...look up solicited and unsolicited. SPAM is the latter. I come to this forum by choice to read opinions and to offer help, and sometimes my own opinions. SPAM is someone adding message upon message in my inbox, when I don't know or want them
to do so, unsolicited. And they come from all age groups (unfortunately), it just seems that the 7-14 age group are usually much more annoying. Good on you, more people should write real letters, especially to friends and family. It is much more personal and
is a lost art form that should never die out.

That's besides the point, TODI. I get spammed text messages on the XB1 all of the time.

 

All my messages which I receive from my friends are solicited not unsolicited so it doesn't hurt me if it's voice or txt, clan invites, wana date, music, or a simple hi. I also don't mind messages from peps who are not my Xbox friends provided it isn't mean
or irritating. I live in NZ so was joking about sending a letter to M as it would take a while through standard post and M provides much easier ways of reaching them electronically aka online. Our government is actually looking into cutting postal delivery
days from 6 to like 3 days a week mainly because more peps in my country email or do things online than writing letters. One of my Xbox friends who is like 10 and lives in northern US sent me her mailing address wanting to be pen pales I didn't tell her mine
as I've been taught never give my physical address to anyone unless you know them in real life and since M tells you, you should never give personal details to just anyone. I tend to share a few more detailed info about me to my NZ (and some Aussie) friends
and best friends just because of the nature of it that I can trust them with it or we come from the same country.

 

Actually Burning they can in some kind of way. If someone like a friend sent you a voice message from 360, it will show up in your Xbox 1 inbox but it will just be a notification like "sorry this message cannot be open here. Go on your Xbox 360 console".
Imagine how many of those you would get if someone spammed you voice messages. That's what one of my Australian friends did to me with both have smart glass he txt hi I replied back, whats up, I'm going to talk about and he was getting kind of annoying but
knew he was only playing around. So decided to send him a voice message so that he got the Dashboard message "sorry we can't open voice messages here".

There is a clear reason why you'll probably never be able to open voice messages sent from 360 on 1 because of the different audio codec tech between the two,

but voice messaging =between all Xbox 1 consoles= is possible because all Xbox 1 consoles have the same audio codec. It's also why you can't party chat between 360 and 1. But you can party chat between other Xbox 1 consoles. Why? Because Xbox 1 consoles
have the same audio codec. Why do peps keeps saying they want voice messaging on Xbox 1? Because it's an Xbox Live feature on Xbox 360 and Xbox 1 uses Xbox Live and is an Xbox and they would appreciate it if they could have it. I honestly can say I'm not the
ONLY one who wants voice messaging on Xbox 1. Just give it some patience maybe.

100% with you. Hate the one because of this basic ommision. Voice msging is quick..convenient..and fun!

 

I used it all the time said what i needed to be said faster then typing said what i needed and press send shocked its not on x1 yet

 

I hope it never returns and if it does i would like to check a box that wont allow people to send me voice messages.

 

I am fine with it coming back, just with the option to disable (as Rippen stated above)

 

Im sure if they did it they could just grey out the option in the Send drop down box in profiles. Not that i don't like communication but i would often get messages on my xbox i log in on my phone to read but what do you know? must be played on your console.
Well I'm quite often away from my console for days and weeks at a time and prefer to read and answer via smart glass as soon as i can. Most of the time its just a 12 year old leaving some verbal abuse anyway.
