we need voicemail

Voicemail was not only a huge step for messaging but also it was time conserving as well. Bring back voicemail because it was almost like a sibling reason for headsets. What's the point of being able to talk during a game but can't talk for a message? I
believe voicemail on 360 was innovating.

10th Anniversary Xbox 360

I don't know if this go here but yesterday I got voicemail saying that Xbox Live is celebrating it's 10 year anniversary and I need to call back with my info. I tried to get help from Xbox Support team on twitter but they never replied back. I deleted
the voicemail thinking it's not legit. Can anyone that this is legit?

To be clear, they're called voice messages, not voice mail. They're two completely different things (well, sort of)...

 

Rarely do I listen to voice messages. Most of them I just delete.

 

No Geek, its considered the same. Voice messages and voice mail. When you listen to voice messages, The Xbox 360's Dashboard (UI/OS) brings up a small box titled Voice Mail and you listen to the voice messages. All Xbox 1 consoles have the same audio codec.
Xbox 360 has VARIETY in ways you can send messages across Xbox Live. Xbox 1 only has ONE way to send voice messages across Xbox Live, and it's only via TXT. I'd consider going to the official Xbox feedback site. I voice message with MANY peps and friends across
Xbox Live. IT BRINGS MORE LIFE TO A MESSAGE than just TXT.

 

In your opinion...IMO, it adds another layer of Spam messaging

 

Xbox has a spam filter called Block Communications. 90% of the voice messages I get on Xbox Live are not spam. There are those of us who want this feature because we like it and use it. It would be great if M brought it back.

 

Voice messages are spam plain and simple(imo) It was abused a whole lot on 360 and I am glad MS isnt rushing out to implement the feature. When its implemented I hope and pray it can be turned off.

 

Since none of my friends or clan use voice messages., 99.9% of all of them were spam or hate messages and/or screaming, uninteligable kiddies. Can you block all voice communications from everyone (without blocking text messages from friends)? Or can you
only block communications from an individual account (one at a time)? If the later, then it is no use to me.

 

It's sad you don't have lots of friends peps on Xbox Live WHO have sent you voice messages. And from my experience hardly any of them are from "uninteligable kiddies" or those just looking for clan invites. Fair enough if you want or don't want voice messages.
I suppose M doesn't want "uninteligable kiddies" on Xbox 1 since you can't voice message (yet).

 

Thank goodness no text messages are ever spam! I've never heard such
stupid excuses for why people don't want voice messages. People who don't want voice messages because they claim they're spam should be crying for the removal of
all messages. I can't think of one time I ever received a spam voice message, but then again, I'm not really into the COD's and games that attract that crowd. Anyone receiving spam might wanna look at the games they play.

No need to get angry...I have not attacked or called anyone names, just given an opinion based on my experience. I am not looking for your pity, no need to be sad, all of my friends are adults and know how to type out the written word. Or, you know, they
could just join my party and talk directly, which is quite easy to do. My friends don't drink peps-i they drink coke and in my experience, I have had way to many "screaming 7-14 year olds" whining about a loss, spaming me to look at "X" website, or join
"Y" clan, without knowing me (this is known as SPAM)...

 

PS- Goth...in my experience I usually get a ratio of 3:1 voice spam over text spam....seems spammers are too lazy to type out websites...or their clan info....or their hate messages. Much easier to scream and curse (or mumble) via voice.

 

@Goth its my fault I like a particular type of game so I should be spammed with voice messages?

Edit: Well said Todi. People spam voice messages because its much quicker to say some dumb stuff then it is to type it. But of course Goth doesnt realize that.
