We need an auto "Appear Offline" when watching TV

I would love to see this feature added, or for someone to show me how if it's already in place. I want a feature that makes me appear offline automatically when I'm watching TV through my Xbox. It's really annoying when I'm watching TV or a movie and I get
distracting requests or notifications. Yes I know I can turn them off while watching TV, but that just means my friends think I'm purposely ignoring them.

In short, we need an option that is "Appear Online, except during video". Who's with me?

Can you turn off the "recent channels" that appear when watching tv?

When i change channels, a huge portion of the screen is taken up by a list of channels that I can say ... Can I turn that off by default?

been created, feel free to vote on it. In the meantime, you can manually switch your settings to appear offline when you watch TV by completing the following steps:

From the Home screen, navigate to the Friends tab.

Select Friends and then select My profile.

On the left side Select Appearing online and switch this option to Appear offline.

* Yes it is 3 buttons, with navigation and delays between each one. It's not like you just press a button 3 times and you're offline.

* If you don't already know where that option is, it's not in an obvious spot.

* If you want to just watch TV and appear offline you need to say:

"Xbox go to friends"

2 second screen change

"My Profile"

2 second screen change

"Appear Offline"

* Or they could add a voice command like this with no transitions multiple commands

Is this game breaking? No. But this would be a nice enhancement

I think we've found the issue, but it still resolves a fix on Microsoft's end. In the Sony TV settings Dynamic Range is set to "Auto".

When playing games, streaming content, watching regular Blu-Rays, and watching 4K UHD with HDR turned OFF the TV works perfectly with the "Auto" setting.

When playing 4K UHD with HDR turned on the Dynamic Range setting on the TV needs to be changed from "Auto" to "Limited". This resolved the issue.

But, if you leave "Limited" on for doing anything else the picture looks messed up.

It seems as if the Xbox One S isn't triggering HDR properly. If you go to the Reddit link you can see the information described in Update 5.

Now it is not working on any TV I try after working on other TVs for a little bit. Black bars now appear on the sides of all the TVs when trying to watch TV through the Xbox.

Also i tried to maually select 1080p rather than use the auto select, it then goes to 720p instead of 1080p. Now my tv is full 1080p, i run a tv freeview hd recorder and when watching tv its full 1080p.

We need an auto "Appear Offline" when watching TV
