We need a real survival open world zombie game:

I think if you added some sort of system to encourage people to play co-op (and not just go the way Day-Z has) you'd have a game that would make me jealous of xbox one. Or in other words, that sounds pretty awesome .

 

I like just about anything that is open world because I like to explore. I don't care if it's with zombies, gnomes or unicorns. I just want SOMETHING I can explore.

 

Heh, I really like post apocalyptic worlds in general, especially if you add the scrounge/survival aspect (Fallout is great about that in the beginning but gets too easy to have supplies when you level up enough).

 

Don't mention Fallout 3! It distresses me that I don't have a post apocalyptic world to explore in right now. I'm so desperate for exploration I'm playing Final Fantasy XIII-2.

 

Now that I think about it, the description in my last post is very reminiscent of Halo... =P

 

Undead Labs are making a Zombie MMO codenamed Class 4, should be awesome unless theres BS monthly fees

Also DAY Z is so overrated ,lifeless buggy world running on a ancient game engine,zombies are so rare its a joke, just shows PC elites will play any garbage , lol they mainly still play lame source games allday on ther uber rigs...

I cannot wait for some better exploring in games. Ac4 is awesome to explore but just doesn't quite feel right. It feels to me for moderate level explorers..! Lol

 

@ Karma - Dying light is open world, but I don't believe it's a survival game. I think it's going to be a hybrid of Dead Island with free running....which isn't a bad thing. I'm getting it day one.

@ Galactic Geek - Alien games up to this point have never drawn me in the same way zombies do. I'm not really a futuristic type of gamer as it is. But if it's done right I would love to see it. I'd want it
to be eerily creepy like the original alien movie. Really any open world survival game with tons of exploration sounds great to me.

@ Dr Green - I saw that they signed a multi year deal with Microsoft. I'm excited to see what they do with it. State of Decay was a decent survival arcade game. I'd love to see its AAA big brother. I feel
like the Day Z mod had the right idea when it came out, but they just wont invest the time or money to reach it's potential. It's too basic, too old and too buggy.

If class 4 is any where near what I'm looking for, I personally would pay the monthly fee. I already pay over $100 for a few months of fun in games like Call of duty/battlefield. My only issue with the fee is that it would most likely limit the population/popularity.

• How much is this game going to cost? 50-100 million?
• What do you think the right price point would be for a AAA game like this? Lower the price to potentially pull more people in to build a huge fan base ($40). Or more expensive to make a profit to invest back into the game? ( $60+)

Well we will eventually get Fallout 4 (hopefully next year, I've lost hope for this year ).

 

@CODukes that is some seriously grand and epic game ideas,I would be investing lots of your time in shouting so loud that some devs hera ya m8,via emails/phone calls and copy righting your ideas befor hand,I would definity play and pay monthly for what your
vision is.

Im gonna get diablo and wow fired up soon on pc cz I need to explore to,ac4 n dr3 eased my pain but has not satisfied it fully,,, spending 2 hours exploring each level of bf4 is what im resorting to on xb1,lol.you can only enjoy the foliage for so long.im
not the most patient person but im hoping the wait isnt too long because seriously I will just have to go and get bk a 360 otherwise and hurt my poor eyes again.it would actually be awesome to get some oblivion on right now.love the zombie open world,but give
me magic, spells and weapons,dragons n dungeons,creatures and classes and mystery and day of the week.god even gauntlet sounds appealing right now,haha.

 

While it isn't about zombies, it's basically medieval times and it's PC but 'Forged Chaos' is making a game called 'Trials of Ascension' which returns MMORPGs back to hardcore mode. Each character only has 100 lives, after you lose all 100 life counters,
the character is lost forever. And a bunch of other cool stuff. It recently had a failed kickstarter but they're trying again with their own store trying to fund their game.

@gamer it is so refreshing to see your reference to mmorpgs and hardcore mode,proper hardcore mode in my eyes, not something that another fps calls it.

 

The main problem with with open world zombie survival games is that the zombies aren't the threat, usually it's other players.Look at games like Day Z, Rust etc they usually end up getting killed by a much better kitted out human player (they have machine
guns, you have a rock) not fun after 20 or 30 times.
