We need 1080p 60fps games!

Sorry, where exactly did I say anything quite like how you're trying to put this across. Of course, I didn't. You're just being silly because you don't actually understand what is being told to you. Maybe you should stop taking everything as some form of
sleight against your fabled console and open your eyes a little. Because it applies to all platforms.

It's not hard to grasp, really. Take any game, on any platform, that runs at 1080p and drop it to a lower resolution and upscale. This will leave more processing power to increase performance, or for whatever else a developer wants to do with said resources.
You have evidence of this already. Ryse ran at 1080p at E3. They dropped it to 900p which allowed them to make the game look better by increasing polygon count and improve shaders. The platform or game is irrelevant. The developmental process is.

If you can't understand something so simple, that is being spelt out to you, then just stop. You're arguing irrationally, illogically, and you don't even know why.

Please forgive me for being unclear with my previous post.

I was merely pointing out that an Original Xbox using a Composite Cable doesn't work well with an HDTV because it (the Original Xbox) was primarily made with SDTVs in mind. The Original Xbox is optimized for SDTVs

With that being said, I don't really care about resolution and frames per second because these don't make a game fun at all. Graphics comes second to how smoothly a game controls and how well it's mechanics work. Now combine this with a great story, gameplay,
and replay value for an awesome experience.

In regards to my other post in which I talk about 720p @ 60 fps, I am content with the Xbox 360s capabilities (720p @ 30 fps or 1080p @ 30 fps).

Aside from a trip here and there I would say this has been a thread where a good discussion has formed. This is how you deal with hate or troll threads/posts, you turn them into something better.

Upscaling can be quite processor intensive, so you may not be saving as much power as you think.

 

Coming up on a year already. By the looks of things so far X1 hasn't closed the gap graphically with PS4 as many had hoped/predicted. It's not just the 1080p number... it's just performance in general. The gap is widening not closing. And that stinks. I
had High hopes for the X1. Honestly, only reason I am hanging onto the X1 now is for the upcoming exclusives. Other than that, every single multi=plat performs better on PS4. Even if the difference is only marginal, given the choice, you still go with the
better one.

 

8 months = 1 year. Good to know. If some other console is so powerful, how come no games better than 1080p/60fps?

 

It was just stated about a month ago that developers now have access to better tools to push their games further, which will be seen later this year with the teams who are currently working on getting their games on XB1.

It may still be easier for them to do it on PS4, but its not impossible for them to get parity with XB1.

And when they do, I still won't notice or care, I'll still be playing great multiplats & exclusives on my XB1.

The only thing that would be better, months from now, is if this whole resolution nonsense stops becoming a hot topic on forums. Then I'm sure them ponies will find something else to rag on XB1 for.

 

Before you can have 60 + FPS @ 1080p games, you have to have a system capable of consistently running them.

 

^^No console on the market today is capable of runnig every game at 1080p/60fps

^^^^^ they are by definition the next generation of consoles, regardless of your opinion of the graphical output of the early games.

Heres an idea, play the game, don't stare at the numbers on the back of the box.

Actually manufacture, and bring to market an Official Next Gen Product.

Or failing that..

Go back to making Windows Operating Systems.
