We Couldn't Load Your Avatar *Update*

Dear Xbox Forums:

For the last couple days, whenever I try to launch the Xbox Avatar Editor App it will not load. It hangs on the load screen and after 3m of loading, it says "Something went wrong, we can't load your avatar".

I have reset Xbox, cleared the cache, turned console on and off, Re-installed the Avatar Editor, and nothing works. I even went to customize profile>use avatar>edit avatar......and it will not load or launch.

Original Xbox Avatar app works perfect, loads insantly.. However the new avatars (released October) will not work. AFter I have done all the troubleshooting I can think of.

**Update** After the Service Status issues were fixed, the Xbox Avatar Editor did an update to the App and seems to be working fine now.

I see this was an issue back in May but today I am getting it on most of my games. The saves are still there but it won't load them. Anyone else? System status doesn't show any

 

Quick question that may help. Are you part of the Insider Program?

 

No, I am not.

I just removed and re added my account on the console and Avatar Editor still will not load or launch.

I don't know any more troubleshooting options left lol

I'd be happy to provide some input. So it seems like the new Xbox Avatar app is not properly loading for you. When you say that your reset your Xbox are you referring to a

soft factory reset? That may help as the issue may have been caused by a bad system update.

 

I just performed the soft/factory reset you linked.

I factory reset it . After clicking on the Avatar Editor again........it still won't load.

So I assume it is probally something on Xbox end and I just play the waiting game?

Every single other App works perfect, I just can't use the new avatar system :l

Are you enrolled in the Insider program? There may be update from the Insider program that could be messing it up.

I don't have/use the Insider program (don't even know what it is tbh lol).

So Insider is not an issue

 

In addition to all the above, I just tried using Xbox Avatar Editor on my Windows 10 PC.........does not work. And does not load.

I am going to assume this is on Xbox's end and patiently play the "waiting game"

There is a current
service alert affecting core Xbox Live services related to accounts that has been on and off since yesterday. It may be related but it may not be, although possible since it also does not load on your PC.

How long has it been since you've not been able to load up the new Xbox Avatar app?

 

I noticed it last night/yesterday evening. So it has been having problems for, at this point in time, about 18hr.

 

Hey Tyler,

I suggest waiting out the service alert as that may be what's causing the app to not load at all.

I've seen some users posting about bugs with the props or outfits but haven't seen where the app hasn't loaded at all.

The service status shows no issues again, and yet the Xbox Avatar Editor App still fails to load my avatar.

Both console and PC.

I give up lol :l I am thoroughly at a loss as what to do. Nothing has worked
