We can't turn on your console

I'm having an issue trying to power on my Xbox One remotely. It's set to Instant-On and my SmartGlass/Windows 10 app can see it, but when I try to power it on, I get the message: "We can't turn on your console. Make sure this device is on the same
network" It's on the same network and once I manually power on my Xbox I can stream and control it without issue. I thought installing the new Windows 10 update might fix the issue, but it didn't.

I found a post about the same issue from a while ago, but I don't think they were using the same versions of the app as I am. I followed the steps in the post that had fixed the issue for a couple of people, but it didn't work for me.

Can I play Xbox One without plugging in Kinect?

Well,if it helps then you can turn it off in the console menus. Can't unplug it thought. there are some speculations that depending on the sales we might see a kinectless console few year down a line. for now just enjoy your x360

 

Did you ever figure anything out on this? I appear to be having the same issue after it having worked fine for months. I've also been through all the other post's troubleshooting steps and everything is set up correctly. Any luck yet?

If power down the xbox one I can get ping replies for about a minute then it stops replying

Both Xbox app and Xbox beta app can't turn the xbox on

Confirmed Instant on is set

Confirmed my power supply is showing white and not orange

 

Try to rename your console on your network. After renaming, it will automatically restart. Once back on, please test again by pinging the console using your Windows PC.

 

I've got the same issue, was about to go bump my thread. I knew I wasn't the only person with this problem. Pretty slack...

I have this issue, as well.

 

Here's what worked for me:

1) change power-on to Eco-Friendly.

2) restart

3) change power-on to Instant-On

4) Restart

 

I tried both suggestions. Both did not resolve the issue

The Apps see the console on the network in sleep mode but cant wake the box up.

 

It sounds more like a network issue, rather than the console itself. While the app may be able to see it, communicating with the console is a bit more involved. Try resetting the router first.

 

Picked up a brand new router and connected just the xbox1 and my computer to it.

Still cant turn the xbox one on using apps

When sending the turn on signal from the app I can see activity lights flashing.... then turn off...then flash again

Like the app is sending the signal and the nic is receiving it but it wont turn on

 

After clicking power on about 6 to 8 times using the xbox beta app it finally turned itself on

Weird

 

What's even weirder is now I cant turn the xbox off using the apps
