"We can't find your microphone" - even though EVERY OTHER APP CAN!

The ONLY reason I got Windows 10 is for the Xbox App so I could use my expensive bluetooth headset on party chat for Xbox One (as the Xbox One doesn't even have bluetooth) The headset is paired and connected and works fine with every other app I have tried
- Skype, facebook, various recording software.

But with the Xbox App I just get "We can't find your microphone" - This is after hours of sorting out the teredo tunneling adapter nonsense . Once again microsoft turns something that should be simple into an endlessly stressful and fruitless endeavour with
ZERO customer support.

So on the xbox app I am able to create party chats but enable to speak or hear anyone. My microphone and speakers work fine on every other app except this one. When I make a party it says "We can't find your microphone". There is no option to choose my playback
and recording device (for some reason it's not a feature in the app). Anyone know a fix?

 

By the way - Cortana works just fine with my bluetooth headset :/

 

Can you go into Microphone Privacy settings and make sure it's allowed there?

Mine didn't work out of the box (wired to a bluetooth controller) until I searched for Setup Microphone and ran that process.

It's not just about it being enabled on your list of apps. Then suddenly I could hear and speak and everything. The audio itself is a different story as it runs out of my speakers and people aren't speaking in my headset like they should be but that's my
only complaint. It works flawlessly otherwise.

 

Me too. Once I ran setup to enable it. Which I doubt OP here did. It's a new mic and that is a necessary step (not just giving apps mic permission)
