Can join parties and text people cant hear anything out of mic or talk into it works on laptop and phone though

Try performing a hard reset EXACTLY like this.

Hold the power button on the console for 8 seconds or until the power shuts down completely. Unplug the power cord from the back of the console for 5 minutes. Plug the power cord back in and restart the console.

If that doesn't work try testing with a different controller/headset.

If you use a headset with a 3.5 mm plug and 3 rings on the connector, know that there are two standards for those headset connectors called "OMTP" and "CTIA".

If you have 3 headsets with a OMTP setup, then the headset is "talking" to the ground pin of the controller, and the controller is "listening" for the microphone on the ground-pin of the headset.

You need to get a CTIA to OMTP adapter, which simply reverses these two contacts. You can get these adapters online or in most cellphone stores.

When you check System>Settings>Network, do you have a IPv6 address?

Support for IPv6 on xbox one has more detail which may assist you.

Do headphones have built-in microphone or audio only? But you have those Microsoft or supported? I would like you to change it in the audio settings of the console.
