    'We can't find a microphone for these people'- Help.


    If anyone on Xbox One X has seen this message you know how annoying this problem is, you can't speak in party chat. If anyone knows how to fix this please help me out. I've tried almost everything in the book to fix this from deleting my profile off my Xbox
    to hard restarts to factory resets and everything in between, nothing works. Even after contacting Xbox support and guessing at a solution that lasted the better part of an afternoon the problem still occurs. My thinking is that I have a defective Xbox One
    X because I do NOT have this problem on my Xbox one, only my ONE X. But before I call in my warranty i'd like to make sure I do everything I can to solve this.

    THINGS I'VE TRIED

    -Restarts

    -Hard Restarts

    -Unplugging Console( 10min Wait)

    -Allowed all communication settings

    -Profile removal

    -Updated controller(s)

    -Tried several controller (new and old)

    -Checked several headsets (Astros, Turtle Beach, ect)

    -Reset (kept games and apps)

    -Factory Reset

    We can't find a microphone for these people

    Try performing a hard reset EXACTLY like this.

    Hold the power button on the console for 8 seconds or until the power shuts down completely. Unplug the power cord from the back of the console for 5 minutes. Plug the power cord back in and restart the console.

    If that doesn't work try testing with a different controller/headset.

    If you use a headset with a 3.5 mm plug and 3 rings on the connector, know that there are two standards for those headset connectors called "OMTP" and "CTIA".

    If you have 3 headsets with a OMTP setup, then the headset is "talking" to the ground pin of the controller, and the controller is "listening" for the microphone on the ground-pin of the headset.

    You need to get a CTIA to OMTP adapter, which simply reverses these two contacts. You can get these adapters online or in most cellphone stores.

    You might have already did this, but have you checked your privacy settings and make sure "Everyone" is picked for parties.

    Also, make sure your network settings are good

    You can't switch to party chat on Xbox One

    I know that me personally I was trying to use headphones that had chat capability but I never could get it to work correctly (like the issues you are having) until I bought a Stereo headset Adaptor. If you have not purchase one of these you might try that

    I hope the issue gets resolved, I know it is no fun not being able to participate in the chat.

    Hello! Im sorry about the issue your experiencing. The 3.5 mm jack is supposed to be a universal outlet for multiple headsets but some headsets will work but not to the full capacity of an actual xbox one headset. Your console uses 8 different settings off
    your router to make sure your able to matchmake and communicate with people. If its not your network its an actual hardware problem between the controller and the headset. Just like a phone charger the plug or the port can be compromised to the point the hardware
    has to be replaced. If you have warranty on your console please contact us to see about the possibilities of

    replacing the controllers     you have.
