    WD 2TB My Passport Portable External Hard Drive


    I recently bought the hard drive, just to use as a media storage to view photos, listen to music etc through my X Box One S. It works perfect on my PC but when I connect it to the Xbox, the console doesn't detect it at all. I think the HD meets the requirement
    but it's either I do something not right or console is faulty or anything. I can do what I want to do with an USB flash drive but not with the HD.

    I followed everything in the support - Hard reset, Format the HD, change of USB cable, Tried different slots... etc. It still didn't recognize the HD.

    Any help would be appreciated.

    I have this one, works perfect and really small, self powered, Just plug it in and fully restart your console then go to setting and manage storage and format, done.

    Which External HDD you using?

    I'm using a WD My Passport Ultra 2TB Portable External USB 3.0 purely because it doesn't need it's own power supply and is powered from the USB port.
