    It seems just today the issue has been fixed. I did indeed post the issue on the halo waypoint website.

    xbox live has been down for a couple days now in some locations. go to settings then network and check your connection. screen should pop up with a list of info that will say your connection is fine but about the 3rd line down it will say xbox live not connected.
    this is the 3rd day in a row mine has been down and it doesn't seem like they are in a hurry to fix it
