Water leaking from Xbox one original

went to turn the xbox on tonight and after the initial startup noise it turns off. Went to check cables etc and discovered water underneath the console, removed all cables and as i took it out of cabinet the water ran out near the usb port and vent.

Before anybody suggests it, NO liquids were spilt on the console, it was in an entertainment unit and not wet on top only underneath (well till i moved it), and the dvd player next to it is completely dry.

It is out of warranty.

Should I open it and try to dry it out?

oh also, i dont know if it is related but it did turn its self off also the other day whilst my husband was playing it, we assumed overheated as it was a very very hot day.

Nope not white, just looked like water.

Pulled it apart as its out of warranty anyway, water seemed to be under the fan area

Just opened it and the water seems to be under the fan area.

Could it possibly be condensation? Dried it all out with a hair dryer.

Hello!

Something would have had to have gotten into the system, as there's nothing inside that would generate liquid like that. You could try opening it up, but I would guess that the system is done. Most likely you're going to have to buy a new Xbox.

This is the second report by a forum user that I've seen about finding water in their Xbox One console with no apparent external source. Maybe there is some validity to these observations. Someone at Xbox Support should be able to verify whether the Xbox
One contains any internal water source.

It's out of warranty now that you opened it. You can look online for people that will repair it. I got the fan and thermal paste changed in my PS4 for 30 quid. Works perfectly.
