Water in my Xbox One and 360? How to proceed?

So while I was at work my apartment complex caught fire. My apartment only received water and smoke damage. From what I understand my whole entertainment center received a fair amount of water, they let me see it but not take anything out of my apartment.
Im not allowed into my own apartment until the fire Marshall gets here next week. So my consoles are most likely sitting in my apartment with water inside of them and maybe even freezing at night. Now I have renters insurance so im all good, but my agent want
me to see if there's someone I need to take my consoles to before I try to start them. Is there someone I could take them to to see if its safe to start or is it the kind of thing you just turn it on and hope for the best?

Water in my xbox

When i woke up this morning, my xbox was constantly turning off and on. Then i found out there was water coming out of my xbox, while i didn't spilled water on it. How can this happen?

falling water. Place the water so it falls adjacent to where you want to work.

then step into the water and swim up while facing the target "underside" you wish to reach. Place your block.

then swim back up onto the surface for air.

remove the water block when you're done placing in that spot.

 

If they are really asking you to turn on water damaged electronics, then this person doesn't have a lot of sense. Because there are vents on top of both the 360 and Xbox one, it is likely a fatality for both. If they are really insisting that you turn them
on first, they will still be water soaked for weeks after exposure. If you must, do it outside on a porch or something, and with the controller from a distance, because the risk of fire is much greater.

 

Ya that's what I was thinking. Honestly I don't care if they work cause if they don't I get a nice check for some new consoles, although the way insurance company do things that'll be awhile.
