    Water damage


    I spilled water on my Xbox and it got in the heatsink and in the power port on the back. The power brick when plugged in turns on its orange light but when I plug it into the Xbox the power brick shuts off. Does anyone know if this is a power brick problem
    or a problem with the console itself?

    The only way you can know for sure is to have a qualified technician clean it properly and if still not working properly do a proper diagnosis.

    In any case itbwould probably be cheaper to buy a replacement than pay for repairs. I have seen them go for 60 CDN these days.

    It doesn't hurt to attempt to dry it out, sometimes (i've had cases) it is a miracle and the water damage doesn't effect the tech. It is true in the future you should probably dry things out before you power them on again, but in this case removing the
    covering, blow drying on a very low heat, and just having it air out could do the trick. Bear in mind though read warranty instructions first, sometimes removing or fiddling with the console could cause the warranty to become null.
