watching videos (youtube) on the internet with xbox 360

hi, my 360 was boxed up for a long while im back online now but when im on the internet with my xbox 360 it wont play any videos like youtube , I read somewhere that its running explorer and there is no explorer any more right, so what do I do PLEASE
IF ANYONE can help me.

Question about the Youtube app.

Perhaps YouTube is having trouble loading the videos onto your 360? Perhaps your Internet took a dive for a bit? There are a few things that it could be, but without anymore knowledge, it is hard to guess what the problem is. I just got done watching
2 videos on the One's YouTube app and didn't encounter any difficulties.

Youtube Ads

The ads are integrated in to the Youtube videos. They have nothing to do with xbox. It's the same as watching videos on Youtube on your computer. Some videos are monetized which means the people who uploaded them have chosen to show ads.

Loll, ok that takes cute of YouTube but I still can't use any video from the web , if its a moving add or a news break it won't run on my

360.

Hello, douglas4570!

The Xbox 360 dashboard and Explorer app were not intended to be used to stream videos of a certain format off of the internet.

It could be that your console might need an update if you were able to see videos on the internet before, but if not that, it might be that the videos you are trying to stream are no longer supported by that device.

So if it's on a 360, and you want to make sure that it's as up to date as possible you would do best to try and update your console again and see if that helps.

You can follow the steps listed under Solution 7 of
https://support.xbox.com/en-US/xbox-360/console/system-update-help to see if that helps with your issue.

ok thank you slowly people are telling me the same thing and you where right about youtube ap it seems that video works if your using app. oops now im told that the never could show video only through an app. i am so sorry for the trouble looks like i
need to do more investigating befor asking for help, so sorry

I came across the same article earlier so I do take back some of what I said regarding MS. It is still annoying that these apps have such large shortcomings, regardless of who's fault it is.

I did read that the Internet Explorer app for the 360 supports HTML5. I know currently Youtube has an opt-in trial of HTML5 video playback; is it possible to do this on the 360 and thus be able to watch Youtube videos?
