    Does the xbox one x have to be constantly on to watch tv? I cant seem to watch my tv while the xbox console is turned off!

    As far as I know, you still can't watch TV when the Xbox is off. Best option is to just have it send you straight to the TV when you turn it on (on mine, once the xbox is turned on, it displays the live TV as if it wasn't there).

    A friend of mine in the preview program said he thought they were going to let you watch when the Xbox is off, but I don't know how truthful that is, so take it with a grain of salt.

    Does your Xbox control the TV, is it switched off when you hit source on your remote? What make and model of TV is it, as it sounds odd that you can't change source. You would need to have both HDMI cables plugged in to your TV, switch between HDMI

    I see now that a lot of folks have complained about this. Everyones answer seems to suggest buying another hdmi cable and trying different ports,..or as most have replied to me,...not to worry about it being left on all the time!

    If you connected your cable box into the back of the Xbox, yes it will have to be on.

    If you don't want your Xbox on constantly, just plug the cable box into another HDMI on the TV. Use the TV remote to switch between Xbox and Cable.

    Depends on your set up. If you run a TV box through the Xbox then yes as you watch via the Xbox. If you have your TV box connected to the TV just switch HDMI ports.
    Bummer! Like whos going to bother switching cables around constantly!

    I think microsoft just wants the consolesbto burn out prematurely so they make more cash.
