Watching 4K Hdr makes the picture worse and darkens everything until I quit out of it..

Goes back to normal when I quit watching a hdr movie...When i load up the blu ray app and start the movie the pic is so dark i cant watch it..

Hdr washed out colors and dimmer during hdr content

I have a Sony Bravia xbr55x850c 4k tv and ive set up everything correctly. The Xbox one s

green check marks saying the tv allows 4K hdr video and gaming everything is checked.

So when I go into hdr content such as gears 4 the tv flickers indicating it's in hdr mode then the colors

actually look worse. They look washed out and dimmer the complete opposite of what hdr should be. Help?

 

Any TV experts out there?

Make sure which ever tv you get it is hdr compatible you will get the best picture possable when 4k is more openly available I own two lg 4k tvs the hdr ready tv picture is a hell of a lot better the the standard 4k tv

 

this is happening with netflix also

 

Have a P series vizio with all the advanced options checked for compatibility...

To understand the issue better, you are able to successfully view 4K HDR content on your Xbox One S, but after leaving that HDR content, your TV continues to think it's receiving an HDR signal and causes the display to be darker?

Could you post back with the model of your TV, along with an idea of what the frequency this occurs in (ie, is it 50% or 100% of the time this will happen?).

i am having same issue. the picture gets dark when a hdr game or app is launched

Samsung ks8000 tv

 

Same issue. vizio p series. Ghostbusters uhd disc and now The shallows uhd disc. Almost pitch black with distorted colors when I open the blu ray app. It will play the sound fine. Half the time it will crash to white static screen and have to power cycle
the xbox. The other half I can tell I'm at the menu from the sounds, but no picture. At that point if I press a the movie still start and play fine. I have 5 other uhd discs and they play fine.

Lestat Phoenix, which 4K UHD discs is this happening with? Does it happen with all of them? Is your TV's firmware up to date? Are you also using the supplied HDMI cable that came with the Xbox One S console and is it plugged into the proper HDMI port on
the back of the TV?

just fyi, I was able to resolve my issue by putting the TV in "movie" picture mode

my set does not properly go into HDR mode when it is on the "game" setting

maybe it is the same with the vizio
