watchdogs

Just need to clarify on whether playing watchdogs before the release date will result in an xbox live ban? in the past when games were sent out earlier than the street date to customers, they were allowed to play the game but not stream the footage. will
this apply to watchdogs due to stores sending games out early? i have received my copy today through the post. Will i be banned if i play it now or do i need to wait until tuesday 27th? (xbox ambassador)

I received my copy an hour ago. I looked it up and apparently ubisoft have posted on twitter asking people "not to spoil the story for others" i.e dont upload footage. however, im not sure about a ban.

 

I just checked with microsoft support and they said they dont usually ban people but you might be accused of hacking by the online community. But who cares about that, i just started loading the game

 

You should not get banned for playing early, as long as you acquired your copy legally. If the store you got it from sold it early, that is not your problem. It has been happening for years, with all sorts of games. I've had several games way early and always
played them without a ban. Good luck, and enjoy.

 

Xbox live understands that some pre orders deliver early so there will be no ban, but if you try and stream the game then there is a chance you would

 

Microsoft don't tend to ban for people playing early but you can get bans in other locations such as Twitch/YouTube if you upload footage/stream your gameplay if the game publisher doesn't want it there.

So if you get a game early, enjoy it but let others enjoy it too by not sharing your gameplay until everyone has had a fair chance to play it too on launch day.
