Watch video.xbox.com movies on TV without xbox console

Hi,

I use Windows Phone 8.1 & have purchased some movies from video.xbox.com, I can watch these on my phone or PC no problem. If I wish to watch the movies on my TV do I need to purchase an Xbox or is there a device or Roku type app that allows this? I don't
really want to purchase an xbox as I don't play games, I only wish to view purchased movie on my TV (I know I can use my PC's HDMI port into my TV but this is a bit clunky).

Movies and TV Xbox Family Sharing

Why am I not able to share movies or TV shows that I have purchased the rights to view with family members that are connected to my account using the family share feature? Currently if I have multiple Xbox consoles and my family member decides to watch a
movie or TV show using Microsoft Movies and TV they must be logged in with my account. If while they are watching a movie I cannot use my account on a different console without stopping the digital content being watched on the separate console. Can the movies
and tv app be integrated with the family sharing feature so family members can share their movies and tv content so everyone can watch and play together?

If you are still unable to watch the movie on your Xbox 360 console while this is issue is being looked into, I would suggest trying to view it on another platform like
video.xbox.com.

You could potentially use chromecast and stream the contents of your chrome browser to your television. I've used it for vimeo and it worked well.

You might be able to purchase a HDMI adapter for your phone depending on it's make and model to push content out to your TV.

Finally, I've heard rumour MS are developing a chromecast of their own, whcih presumably would have support for video.xbox.com.
