    I purchased my Xbox One in January 2015, as part of the Assassin's Creed Bundle. That day, I hooked up my cable box and set everything up connected properly to the Xbox. I continued on setting up the TV settings with my Xbox, and was watching TV in no time.
    At the end of the day, I turned off my Xbox and let it be. When I came back the next morning and attempted to watch TV, I was prompted to set it up again. I figured my settings hadn't saved from the day before, so I set it up again, however, it just seemed
    to continue. I figured it was an error many people were having, but no one I know seems to be having the issue, nor has anyone online. Any help would be amazing! Please and thank you Watch TV on your Xbox! (If you want to go threw the set up process over and over...) :D

    Controller/TV question

    It just hit me that i was watching college football for a couple hours and i look over and my controller is still on by the xbox insignia lit up. If we are to watch tv for extended period of time, how much of the battery is drained from the controller since
    the xbox one is on as well? I would hate to think you have to actually go through the process of turning off the controller everytime you wanna watch tv.

    What is your TV screen setting? I have an HD tv and when i watch certain SD channels on tv I set the screen to stretch it to fill for watching my shows. Then I go to game and forget I changed it and it carys over to the game until I put it back to norm.
    also check your display settings on your xbox to make sure its sett appropriate to the TV you're playing on

    At the moment its not possible to record TV to an external hard drive, that was announced last year but as of yet, it hasn't been implemented into the Xbox One.

    As for watching TV through your Xbox, you can plug virtually anything into the HDMI in and as long as the Xbox has it on its list of "TV providers" your good to go.

    Basically all you do is plug the Now TV box into the back of the Xbox One, then go to the system settings on the Xbox and look for a setting called TV setup (or something like that, at work so cant remember)

    It will then take you through the process of setting up the Xbox to work with your Now TV box, and that's pretty much it.

    To Connect or not?

    The HDMI output from your Windstream box (I assume its a box) would plug straight into the HDMI input on the Xbox One, then whenever you want to watch TV you just say "Xbox TV" and the Xbox flips over to the TV input.
