Its interesting with the Walking Dead how they take elements from the comics and mish mash them up to tell a slightly different story. If you havnt read the comics/graphi novels give em a whirl you wont be dissapointed. Whos that on the barbie?

Are these references from the comics to describe whats going to happen in Season 5? My concern is wont they catch up to the comic writer and have to stall? I don't know much about the comics myself so I will have to take a look. Never even seen one to be
honest lol

 

Not the way they are doing the series, a lot of the story lines are jumbled up episodes from the comics refried into a different story arc. The comics play out completely differently, for instance Shane doesnt make it past episode 2 of the comics, never
even gets to Herschels Farm, another example is the incident involving Carl in the finale, that happened in a different scenario with a completely different set of characters (apart from Rick). The only real parallel with the comics is that the threat is
now more leaning towards other humans than walkers. The TV series is pretty tame compared to the comics the storyline with the Governor and Michonne is mega extreme and they just wouldnt have got away with on TV.

 

I'm with you mate. So they are using the comics as a base reference but creating a different path for the characters. I just googled and saw Dale with Andrea :/ *shudders*. Lol.

Daryl appears to be unique to the series and not the comics too.

I guess it makes sense doing it that way as fans of the comics will be on edge too rather than it following the comics to the letter like GoT does.

 

LOL at Dale and Andrea! And yes Daryl and Merl dont exist in the comic world. Thats right it doesn't matter how up to date you are with the comics the series always chucks in some surprises.

 

There's some variations from the Game of thrones books to the series, but its mostly true to the books

There's gonna be a certain character showing up soon (hopefully) who I cant wait to see!

 

Yes I have only read the first one of GoT and part way through the second, but I was impressed how faithfully the TV series goes with the books. (Witcher books are great reads as well!)

 

As much as I love the GOT TV series the books were awesome.

Second being the best read so far ( in my opinion )

Lol the dale / andrea was not what I was expecting :/

GoT can go on for as long as it wants in my opinion. Its one of those shows I could watch forever. Peter Dinklage is just outstanding in what he does. I still fear the series will catch up to the books before the final one is released looking at how long
the author takes at writing.

 

As far as The Walking Dead goes re: comics vs TV show... all I'll say is Negan!

EDIT: He makes The Governor look like the Easter bunny!

I just bough graphic novels 19 and 20 so I should be up to date by the end of the weekend! Michonne certainly knows how to play the spoons!
