  1. Watch out...xbox one controller bug allows purchases without passkey

My 10 year old twins hacked the controller by mistake and ran up $200 of in app purchases. Microsoft Xbox One has a passkey that is supposed to be a security setting for protection from unwanted in app purchases. The problem is a child can bypass the secret
6 digit passkey by simply hitting the controllers back eft and back right keys rapidly! The bug allows them to bypass the passkey protection and takes them right to the password screen. The kids know the password in order to use the Xbox One system. Since
the passkey is easily hacked, the password entry is easily used as the final step to complete purchases of games, streaming content you name it. Microsoft has clearly had bad development and bad QA testing but it gets worse. Microsoft promotes a game called
Garden Warfare that kids love and it preys on children with in app purchases. Microsoft splits the revenue that it steals from children and their parents. Its the only game I've see like this. First you purchase the game for $40. Then you can only play
the game at home alone by joining Xbox Live from microsoft for $60. After all that your not done, they pick you pocket for in app purchases that are required to do anything with the game. Buyer beware...if I had know about this shameful situation, I would
have purchased a different gaming device. Shame on you Microsoft. Fix you controller and kick Garden Warfare off your system!

use the password to use the system to game but By bypassing the passkeyThis bug means your child can get around your secret 6 digit passkey. If the controller didn't have this terrible bug, the 6 digit code you set up with keys on the controller

    :)

  2. Failure to access key system xbox one

Good afternoon I would like to report a bug in security purchases xbox one, in case the system system allows delete a security key without asking to put the key before it is removed.

In the Settings / Create Access Key menu can enter a new passkey to put more security on our account, one reason for the use of this key is to prevent a purchase without our permission is made.

A registered time this passkey every time you need to buy something in game store before the purchase is finalized it will be necessary to put the passkey.

In the case of this system error occurs when the access key can be deleted without the need to confirm the same, coming from the same menu that was created to access key there is the option to delete the passkey and when selected it removes the key without
asking the User to confirm the code you chose in the creation of the access key.

  3. Passkey for Purchases Only

    Hi Guys,

I'm after a solution that allows my kids to use my xbox account but does not allow them to make purchases.

The only help I found so far was a passkey but when that's enabled they need the passkey to login and use the xbox...so defeats the purpose of having the passkey in the first place.

Is there a way of doing this without having separate accounts for each of my kids?

Sorry to hear it. I have passed your thread on so the glitch can get looked into.

In the meantime I would recommend changing the password for your gamertag and creating separate ones for your children. Not only will you be able to control whether or not they can purchase items but any content you purchase on your account can be shared
by them, included your Gold membership when they are added to your family from the Settings page.

    ordering and passwords

    Hey there

    BoricPoem984687 ,

Thanks for reaching out to the forums for advice on protecting yourself from unauthorized purchases. I can totally see how important it is to take control of this situation. Unfortunately, there is no means of setting the passkey to be your actual password
as of yet. If you are concerned with preventing your child from making purchases from your account, I suggest changing your password as well as the passkey itself.

For more information on setting up and using passkeys to prevent unwanted purchases, check out Require a passkey for purchases
    on your Xbox One console
and Create and manage an Xbox One passkey.

    Thanks for reading!

How do I prevent my children from using my XBOX account?

    Kujawafamily,

You should put a passkey on your account. https://support.xbox.com/en-US/my-account/security/create-xbox-one-passkey

Here’s just a few benefits of having a passkey on your account:

    • A passkey protects against a child signing in as the parent and overriding parental controls. A personal passkey prevents a child from simply clicking on the parent’s picture, signing in as the parent, and changing the child’s otherwise
      parentally controlled settings.
    • A passkey helps to prevent unapproved charges. You can choose to require a passkey to make any purchase on Xbox Live. Setting a passkey helps prevent children from making unapproved purchases.
    • A passkey allows the parent to grant content exceptions. The only way for a parent to override a content limitation is by entering his or her personal passkey, so it’s easier to manage what content your children can see on your console.

    Xbox One Lock

Hi Cruz! I'm sorry to say there isn't a way to password protect the entire xbox, it will automaticall go to the dashboard at startup, allowing users to attach their own profiles or play offline as a guest. You CAN set a passkey to prevent your own account
from being signed in and used, and I'll provide those links for you, but I don't suspect that's exactly what you want. Sorry about that!

    Create a passkey:
    support.xbox.com/.../create-xbox-one-passkey

    Require a passkey for purchases:
    support.xbox.com/.../passkey-purchases
(This is the same location where you can set your sign-in preferences to require the passkey.)

Why my xbox one controller suffer from a weird bug that spamming down the left stick and random move the right stick?

I have another xbox one controller because my other xbox one controllers left stick keep spam down and my right stick start to move random. Before getting a new xbox one controller, I use this cheap xbox one controller for months without it showing
sign of the weird bug, the glitche that it toying with the left stick and right stick. Then after this weird bug. thing messing around those sticks I got me another cheap xbox one controller. I been using it for months without a problem. Then there that weird
disease bug messing around the left stick and right stick. I went back to use the old xbox one controller that catch the weird bug but it seem to recover from this weird bug? The old xbox one controller return back to normal. Then I been using it for months
without a problem. But then the weird bug return back to the old xbox one controller. And all what is doing is messing with the left stick and right stick. I don't want to buy a another cheap xbox one controller. I don't want to remove the xbox one controllers
outside layer to remove the part in the left stick and right stick that allow me to click. Because that does not get rid of the weird bug. How did my old xbox one controller is cure from this weird bug? Why the weird bug return back to my old xbox one controller?
I don't want to keep buying xbox one controller. I want to clean it from this weird bug without open it. I think the old xbox one controller is trying to fix itself to return to normal.
Have you checked for a controller update
