Watch Dogs - First Impressions

Morning All

So I had not decided... should I go to the midnight launch of Watch Dogs or not? I have work today so was thinking I would wait, but at 11:50 pm I was staring at the clock and just jumped out of bed, jumped on my Ninja and shot down to EB Games. Got home
installed and played about 30 minutes before going to bed.

It looks great, graphics are very nice, hacking is easy (I thought it may be tedious), vehicles handle nicely and the rumble triggers are responsive. So I am calling in sick today and instead I am going on a trip to Chicago, maybe I will see you there!

I really impress by the amount of side stuffs....

I can spend hours just playing the digital trip games...

My "big" dissapointement are the motocycles,driving feeling is poor,not fun.

There is always something happening or to do,really great....A "real "living world.

 

Really thats all you have to say?? i could of told you that and i haven't even played it.

 

I think this thread was more about him telling everyone that he has a "ninja"

 

I liked his post; I thought it was vey entertaining & good for a laugh.

 

Few hours in now, the game is solid, I particularly like the cat and mouse using vehicles!

I have to admit, my hacking skills need some work, I seem to end up killing everyone rather than playing smart ><

The multi player transitions in with the campaign really well, it can be hard to catch those trixy players hacking!!!

Well, lunch is gone, back to Chicago!

Though this post DOES NOT contain Story SPOILERS but I am going to describe some of the stuff you can do, some of which is pretty unique and has not really been done in a game before so... if you want to experience this
for yourself please do not read my post.

Otherwise carry on and here are my first impressions as per the Thread Title.

So the game arrived this morning and I really didn't know what to expect.

The game starts off with a scenario that gives you a little bit of the basics of hacking and it's pretty different and pretty fun.

After escaping the local constabulary I then had a simple guideline: Get To The Hideout.

But it's a brand new game, so much to see and explore.

Driving... I've had better experiences and I've had worse experiences and if I'm honest, I probably just need to get used to the way cars handle in this game. Not a big deal.

I eventually got out of my car and started to stroll about on foot and that's when Pandora's box seems to really open.

Imagine being on a bus, a subway and wondering what all the other strangers were up to? Well because you can hack into their mobile devices you can immediately identify who they are and 'interesting facts' about the person which range from "regularly attends
Church" to "Transgender".

Additionally you can siphon money from people's bank accounts and even *** the music they are currently listening to.

I spent the next couple of hours walking the streets, noseying into people's lives, siphoning their cash and getting paid at the ATMs.

There are some towers, like in "Far Cry 3" and the "Assassins Creed" series, which once you unlock them will give you more details about the area.

On my way to the hideout I hacked 2 of these towers. The first one was very straight forwards. The 2nd one required investigation and a little thought to eventually get myself up to the box I had to hack.

There are CCTV cameras about the city and you can hack into these to look around, locate targets and even hack the targets through them. If the cameras are set up the right way you can actually travel for blocks, via CCTV so that when you actually do what
you do... you're nowhere near to be seen doing it.

That's my first couple of hours.

Impressed by the novel and new gameplay mechanic that the game offers.

Impressed with the size and flow of the city. The map is huge.

Impressed that after a couple of hours in my current progress is "barely dented".

Looks very good but graphically it is not in the same league as "Ryse: Son Of Rome" and "Wolfenstein: The New Order".

Good fun so far though.

Don't buy it online if you can avoid it. In the UK they're asking £60.00 for a game you can pick up for £44.00 at the Supermarket or Online.

Wolfenstein good graphically? Its alright but nothing to rave about

 

Just started....and so far so good...

Looks good,play good.

A lots of upgrade to unlock.

Big amount of contents.

By the way,if you got (or will get),some "Ubi points" (don't remember the real name), go on Uplay you can unlock an outfit,a weapon,a car and in game money.

 

Is there the 8 player online free roam we were promised?

 

Fatal There is but you need to go do the campaign mission then you get a app for that. LOL. The games is Amazing.

 

Why did all the other watchdogs threads get deleted?

 

Merlin they got moved to the sub forums nobody visits.

 

Well it's certainly a different beast to GTA, which I'm pleased about. I'm not sure what I think overall yet, need to play some more. I'm confident I'm only going to like it more as I unlock more hacks.
