( If you don't like turn based strategy games then read no further lol )

This has become ( and I've only scratched the surface ) my favourite game of 2015 so far!

Took me a while to get it, found it quite daunting at first but it's just such a brilliant game. Nothing really else like it on todays consoles. Highly recommend having a read about this folks as I believe it will slip under a lot of peoples radars!

So much I could say but don't wont to spoil it for those who pick it up but again, at the very least just check out a few reviews/previews.

Hey Lofty, glad you like it so far. I saved the AG Center first this time and it was kind of a pain but in a good way. lol This game and Divinity: Original Sin are definitely flying under the radar due to the Halo cash cow.

Using a controller is not too bad, it WAS difficult to select small items with out dancing around with your character. For example if there was a locked door and a loot crate next to it, it was hard to get the one you wanted, until I figured out if you hold
LT like you are going to use a skill( but DON'T) then you can press RB or LB to cycle between things. Also if you didn't know Lofty you can press Left Stick and go into "single character mode" Useful for setting up your squad before you start an encounter.

I saw this on the Marketplace and started watching the videos.

This got me interested and I started checking it out a lot more online.

For £26.00 this is a steal and like Lofty says, it's one of the biggest surprises of 2015.

The game is a little like "Diablo III" meets "Tell Tale's: The Walking Dead" meets "XCom: Enemy Unkown".

it is a brilliant old school Role Playing Game that has received an impressive "this gen" face-lift and update.

You control a squad of 4 recruit Rangers attempting to keep the peace in an post apocalyptic nuclear wasteland.

You'll recognise elements of "Fallout" in this game because its made by the people who created the original "Fallout".

Its different but easy to follow. There's a huge amount of depth to this game but you don't feel overwhelmed. As an old school RPG it makes sense so you don't get muddled by the skill trees (at least not early on).

As you progress in the game characters may join you. They have not only their own stats and skill trees but their own motivations as well.

Actions have consequences and these can be surprising.

One of my Rangers was trying to kick down a door. One of our followers also had this skill and got frustrated. They said "Get out of the way and let me do it" and ended up breaking their leg. This is currently causing them to limp. We don't have to shoot
them and they're still pretty useful but it was a surprise when it happened.

When you do your research remember that the XBox ONE version is a polished and updated version of "Wasteland 2" that includes new dialogue as well as some new content. The biggest improvement is that they appear to have made what was a pretty impressive
game when it originally released... an even better game. It just portrays the action it was portraying back then... but much better. The turn based combat is much smoother and a lot less clunky.

You'll have to read a lot. Though there's much spoken dialogue all of it occurs in a text space on the screen. All sorts of information is displayed there. You'll be reading a lot but rather than being a chore it seems to really add to the game.

One of the big things about this game also appears to be consequences of your actions.

The developers insist that no 2 playthroughs can be the same because of how your choices have consequences with even some minor decisions decisively shaping the future of the experience your characters undertake.

Don't let this one slip past you.

Wasteland 2 Director's cut is coming to the UK on October 16 for Xbox One

Thanks for the tips Rvhk! It does take a while to get to grips with.

Az has it spot on though with it's Diablo - Walking Dead - XCom!

Like I said before, it was a bit daunting at first! There's still some missions where I just haven't got a clue what to do but it's just a game where I love exploring, meeting new characters, taking in the story!

I recommend saving OFTEN though Wasteland 2 Director's cut is coming to the UK on October 16 for Xbox One ;)

    We're all dead.

How do I use pain killers on myself.

Is this through the Left Trigger?

I've figured out how to act as a Field Medic for someone else... but my characters being able to heal themselves would probably help them last longer.

Don't think you can if you don't have the field medic/surgeon perk.

Could be wrong though, not that far in myself.

Anyone can use pills on them self. You can go to your inventory, press A on pills and then "use". Buying a lot of pain pills can get expensive and they hardly heal any health points so I never buy them but I have tons of small medic kits and pocket kits.
Keep your medic out of harms way and give them a GOOD gun for self defense. Remember that when a character levels up you gain FULL health with them.

Field Medic/Surgeon is a real help! I've also trainer mine up to use a sniper rifle! At least she can fight and be affective but not get too involved just in case Wasteland 2 Director's cut is coming to the UK on October 16 for Xbox One :)

    ( No Spoilers )

Up until last night I had spent ( on and off ) about 2 days on one mission, basically trying to make peace between two groups! Not sure how but last night it went horribly wrong and I ended up best friends with one, enemies with the other lol Mind you, sometimes
being bad does have it's rewards!

It's such a brilliant game though. You think the story is going one way, then say the wrong thing, do something wrong and it can totally change!

    That's the strange thing.

I was highlighting the pills in my inventory and selecting "Use" but they weren't being used.

It's a bit like the shovel in your inventory. You can select it, and select use but it doesn't use it. It may only be used in the context of having to dig (i.e. you come across a pile of rubble, it will give you the option to dig). Selected the Pills.
Hit use. It's not that they only heal a small amount. They didn't heal at all. Looked back in the inventory and the amount of pills hasn't decreased.

I think it may be on the Left Trigger Radial for a character. I'll have to double check that out.

I considered my first run to be a "Test Run" to get an understanding of whats going on.

    Still an excellent game.

My Rangers were called off mission to assist locals in peril.

The local plants had gone mental. We were attacked by spores, infected and searching for a cure before we were turned into people eating monsters... but succumbed to a combination of poison and being eaten by people eating monsters.

Once I figure out how to heal (and I'm sure I'm onto something with the LT radial) the Wasteland won't know what hit it!

When you select it from your inventory and press use you will see a blue highlight around a character. You need to select the one you want to use with LB/RB (if it is NOT the medic then they can only heal them self with pills) THEN you press the A button
again. The same with the radial wheel. Press LT> select medic>cycle between characters with LB/RB>press A on the meds you want to use.

We'll give this a go. Hopefully it will mean people can heal.

Apparently if left to their own devices your characters will fully heal themselves. It just takes a while.

^ It's a fantastic game in my opinion.

So much I'd love to discuss about the story but it could spoil it for others.

Not sure how much of the main story I've done, I've played for around 60 hours now and still loads to do. Obviously certain missions etc are locked off depending on your choices/actions but that's only give me incentive for another playthrough in the future!

A little tip though. Before venturing too far into Demonta, make sure your stocked with ammo, medi kits, a few high powered weapons, it can get tough Wasteland 2 Director's cut is coming to the UK on October 16 for Xbox One ;)

    ^ Of course ;-p

Just when I thought I'd seen most areas of the game. I got to a totally new map last night and it's opened up tons of new places. The game is HUGE and brilliant in equal measures!
