Wasted?

I forgot to say Xbox gaming can be useful some times.

My man had some Xbox games in his card.

He got stopped by cops cause his his tail light was off.

The cop saw his games smiled and said:

"You play Xbox? Nice, me too"

They got into a short conversation about gaming and the cop did not charge him money lol

 

I have had those thoughts before. Hell Im currently looking into buying a monitor that'll cost me over $400. On the surface it is most definitely a waste of money, but when I think of the years of enjoyment it will bring me Its not. Hell I used to blow
that kind of money in week of going to bars and the like(not often, but it did happen).

 

for some it is so enjoyable that they get hooked on it like a drug and it slowly erodes their life away, their ambitions, goals fade away, projects get put on hold, family time becomes less and less important, priorities get knocked down. It can destroy
a life just like crack cocaine. I watched it happen to my brother.

 

When someone asks this question, it's usually because they do nothing else, but play games. Trust me, I've been in that situation. I stopped gaming for a year and got my life back on track. Now I game in my spare time and I love it.

 

Absolutely not...i think it's a fantastic hobby and depending on the person more or less enjoyable...to me gaming is an escape from the sickening world around me. My sister always gets on her son about doing nothing but playing on his XBOX but i always have
to stick up for the boy and say at least he's not out in the world dealing drugs,commiting crimes etc.

 

As long as you can support yourself and aren't a liability to anyone else, I wouldn't care what anyone else thinks.

 

I actually have thought about this quite a lot.

Spend hours on end playing a multiplayer shooter with no real gain except from the game's rank up system when you can be doing so much with your life.

But then I think about what I am doing and in life as long as you keep your vices(and yes gaming is a vice) in moderation then there isn't anything wrong.

The things you do in life and all things you prioritize are completely subjective and all depend on the scope of what you want to do and who you want to be so just keep your balance and nothing will be truly wasted.

 

Imagine all the things that you could have spent the thousands of pounds on instead of gaming, I could have had my teeth fixed, my nose straightened, a hair transplant, my wife could have got some new breasts, surely that would have been better than a high
gamer score.

Ps I'm not as ugly as I made myself sound, lol.

 

Is watching moves a waste of time? Is watching TV a waste of time? Is posting on these forums a waste of time? Yea, there are better ways to spend your time, but if you were entertained and that's what you enjoy, then I say no, it's not a waste. If anything
is a waste I'd say you're example of plastic surgery is a prime example of a waste of time and money (unless maybe you're seriously disfigured from an accident or etc, then I'd understand).

 

Aren't we always looking for something enjoyable? Whether or not you realize it we all are craving pleasure at the end of everything we do. For example we work to earn something out of it. Yeah, sure it's for not all for enjoyment. But the end result of
work is money, trade, or an exchange of services which is something everyone enjoys and wants. Same with charity work, you may not earn any physical material from it, but you do earn that feeling of doing good, and for some people it's not to do good, but
instead to be know or thought of highly. Everyway you put it you are always looking for that pleasurable end result. Gaming is a pleasurable end result. Pleasure is not a waste if you are constantly striving for it.

IF you worry about all that you clearly have found the answer yourself

 

In reasonable amounts gaming can be great. In excessive amounts, it can ruin your life. But there are several other things that can ruin you in excess. Eating is great in moderation, too much and you're 800 lbs and on a show on Discovery Health. Sometimes
people don't know when to say...okay, I've had enough, I'm going to do something else for a while.

When games are close to almost cost nothing then it's not a waste of money, much less if you're saving up for one that you've been wanting it for a long time.
