Was able to download all games except Gears 2

I bought the digital download for Gears on Xbox one and played it online like the instructions said. And I did get all the other gears games to download as soon as they became available through backwards compatibility. But Gears 2 still shows as "bundle
only" or whatever and won't let me download it. Support said I needed to post here.

So I cannot download gears of war 2 on the Xbox one

I preordered a physical copy of gears of war ultimate edition not long before release. I knew that I was meant to receive the 4 original gears games for backwards compatibility. I was able to download all of them except gears of war 2. It is not in my list
of games available for download like the rest of them were. I was told to come here by Xbox support to get this problem fixed for me. Massively annoying to have them all but not the 2nd gears which is probably the best of the lot!

 

i thought we where suppose to get all the 360 gears of wars with the ultimate edition

I'd love to replay Gears of War 2 again. That was easily the best I thought, Gears of War 3 is a close second. The first Gears of War is great but just not as amazing the 2 and 3. Just started playing Judgement...ummm, yeah not nearly as good. Well, hopefully
we get a remastered 2 and 3.

Anyways, I was able to download the other games for free except for Gears of War 2.

Anyone else have the same problem?

 

I got them through games with gold bar GOW2 and i think the token should be sent out some point this week.

If you were able to successfully redeem the code and Gears of War 2 and it isn't showing up for you in Ready to Install list, be sure to try a full power cycle on your console. To power cycle hold down the power button on your Xbox One for 10 seconds (or
until your Xbox One powers off) and then try accessing the game from your Ready To Install list again.

I never received a code. I was just automatically able to download the other games just not Gears 2.

 

Ah, then that would be the issue. You likely own the other 3 games through purchasing previously or Games with Gold, and that's why they are showing up. The Gears promotion is sending the codes through Xbox Live Messaging, not gifting the license on your
account.

When did you first play gears? That will help us figure out what our next steps are for you.

 

Ohhhhh I didn't even think about that lol. Well I can't remeber when I first played it but it wasn't long after launch. Maybe a few weeks.
