The warranty only covers manufacturer faults. Lost, stolen and damaged would need to be covered by house or personal belongings insurance.

depending which country you are in, here in the UK a manufacturer warranty is for 12 months, this covers malfunction due to a defect or general breakdown with no misuse.

Normally, every Xbox 1 purchased from a retailer like Argos has a 1 year warranty on it which should apply to your Xbox 1. As you've had issues entering warranty details I would recommend contacting Xbox support and as they can take your Xbox 1 in for repair
