Warranty repair issue

I summitted a warranty claim for an elite controller in Feb 2021. This device had a warranty end date of 2/21/2023. The controller I got back had a different serial # and this one has a a warranty end date of 10/5/2022.

I've just had to submit a warranty claim again and noticed the discrepancy in the warranty end dates.

I can understand why the device was replaced rather than repaired back in Feb, but don't understand why I had 4 months taken off my warranty?

Any ideas on how to approach Microsoft about this?

I read the Microsoft warranty terms and didn't find something that explained this reason, maybe only an agent can explain it to you.

If those dates are right, then it has taken 8 months off, not just 4

It's a weird one as the warranty for an Elite is either the standard 90 days or the purchaseable extended 3 years...there's nothing in-between that I can see to explain it.
