    Microsoft and their Warranties...

    Dear Employees/ Consumers, I have a proposal to Microsoft that could save them a lot of customer service hassle and rudeness from each other as well as some money...

    My plan is that after the first year of warranty, the price should slowly rise until the end of the 2nd year of ownership, so if someone breaks theirs a month before the end of the 2nd year it isn't much price difference than getting full price, or one month
    after a completely free warranty is not ridiculous to them, thus having a logical reason for such a (excuse my language) short **** warranty. I personally would like this so it benefits the employees the hassle of haggling Xbox sleight of hands, and make it
    easier and happier for loyal, and soon to be loyal consumers involved.

    My ties to this...

    I recently had my Disc tray malfunction on me, saying that "do you own this game" and it pissed me off because i was one month after warranty where it was free that goes straight to (pardon me again), **** with you,
    pay the price and give us your money. I was one month away with a problem I hadn't caused. Also, I find full price quite rude to be frank. My friend experienced special treatment and told me about how they could fix it for free without warranty because of
    early production miscalculations. I know the story well after doing research on the topic, how it happens, and people experiencing the same problems. I don't want to make this a business deal of any sort to take any payment, and I don't want to screw the company
    out of making money but 30 days after expiration is bull. I want everyone to live satisfied happy lives without stress, anger and drama involved. Microsoft, take this seriously and make a board meeting about it because it took me customer support and a week
    of planning and refining to make this serious. If you know you make so much money off the consoles and games as well as out of warranty repairs, then why pay people to deal with it instead of striking down the problem at the source and saving some. Thank you
    for reading my frustration and anger and hopefully someone can realize that when a
    sophomore in high school has better suggestions than the eggheads you pay a lot to hit dead ends, take some ideas.

    I'm most likely going to pay the fee but i'm not happy with my product nor Microsoft, and if you think its all good because i payed the repair fee, you are as corrupt as you are rich. Take me seriously and put some thought into the people that actually care
    about your business/products and not the ones you pay to care about it. It goes to show why some like PlayStation4 a bit more than Xbox

    Slow installs, digital copy as well as disc

    Took some time off of work (Friday AM) have been trying to get my games installed since then. I have a couple of disc versions, I updated the Xbox online as soon as I got it, that went smoothly. After reading all the issues about online installs, I took
    my system offline and tried playing it off the disc (2K14) Well it installs and gets to 49% each time, then tells me my disc may be dirty or damaged. It went straight from the wrapped package to the console.

    Well after messing with it for 4 or 5 hours (Multiple factory restores etc.) I try to purchase a game online. I buy Ghosts and it sits as queued for a few hours, until I click install now and it finally says installing. For the last 4 hours it has been at
    0%. My internet is not lighting fast, but averages 900kb/s-1.5mb/s depending on the time of day. Paused it, multiple times and gets stuck either queued or at 0%. No other downloads attempting.

    2K14 still appears on the home page greyed out, even though I didn't put the disc in after restoring it.

    This system is such a waste of time I have never been so disappointed in a major purchase like this before. Feel like burning it, recording it then replaying it for hours. That seems like a better use of my time.

    On the Xbox Statistics, it shows a high latency, but DL is 9.75mbps and UL 2.5mbps

    If you say so but I see games on demand as a way to save money. Many games I am willing to pay $60.00 for a disc I get three digital games for the same price. Plus my disc tray is messed up.

    Yeah, though at least his five year general hardware failure warranty was nearly up anyway, and it wouldn't help with disc tray issues (that's covered under the one year general warranty).

    If your constantly getting a disc tray open notice when your disc tray is closed, either the disc tray sensor is faulty or the disc tray itself has come off track. You can try to gently wiggle it while it open and if it feels really loose, then its probably
    off track. Youll want to contact xbox tech support about getting it fixed or replaced. If youve had your xbox for more than a year, your no longer under warranty and will have to pay for it to be serviced.
