    Warranty ended when device was being repaired


    A few weeks ago I sent my Elite series 2 controller in for repair, before the warranty ended, and microsoft still has the controller. But when I go to the website, it says the warranty is over and doesn't show the status of it

    If you’re unable to see the status of your service repair, I can only advise to contact support

    Maybe, the controller is on it’s way back to you and it’s now just showing as warranty ended, as the warranty status is automatically updated even when it’s being repaired. Either way you should still recieve it, there just might be a slight delay.

    If you don’t recieve your controller or hear anything back regarding this after a couple of weeks, definitely contact support - Calling them is probably the best option for this.

    New Replacement But Not New Warranty

    I sent in my Elite Wireless Controller Series 2 for the second time because of the "A" button being intermittent. Last time they sent back the same controller repaired or a refurbished one, not sure.

    This time they sent me a brand new one with the box and everything sealed. I checked the serial number and it is a new one. Microsoft even updated it on my devices page on my profile. I noticed something though. My warranty ends the same time as the original
    did when I bought it back in June. Being a brand new device, shouldn't it get a brand new warranty? The old and current warranty ends in October.
    Why would you expect something abnormal as extemded warranty

    When warranty replacement happens it doesnt affect the end of the warranty EVER Unless it is past the warranty period which case you get 30 days or a paid repair which gives you an extended warranty

    This is regardless of companies

    This IS NOT extended warranty. The product was replaced with a BRAND NEW item. When you get a brand new item from a store its warranty begins at time of purchase. This is the same concept because they sent me a brand new item so it should have its own normal
    warranty starting from day of delivery.

    Microsoft's Service Center inspects all devices upon arrival. Whenever a device is not fit for service, it is sent back and the user is sent information on why service wasn't performed on their device.

    "The service center inspects your product upon arrival. If no service is performed (repair or exchange), we’ll return the product and send you info about why the service wasn’t performed."

    With the exemption of Xbox Elite Controllers, all Xbox accessories under warranty are replaced instead of repaired. If you haven't received a notification letting you know service wasn't performed on your headset, a replacement headset would explain why your service order was shipped back on the same day.

    Should this not be the case, please do not send your device back to Microsoft's Service center before reporting this to Xbox Support. To contact Xbox Support:

    - Go to https://support.xbox.com/contact-us/
    - Sign in to your Microsoft Account.
    - Click the green "Contact Us" button.
    - Select the support topic and issue that relates the most to your problem.
    - Follow the prompts.

    elite remote warranty check

    Hi there,

    usually you will be able to check the warranty when you add a device to the devices list and it will show the warranty for that device, this is the link:

    When setting up a repair request it usually will also show the warranty, this can be done via the same link, but it's advised to only do that when you actually need a repair request for a device
