Wanting to play in Japanese

So I'm learning Japanese and wanting to play some old favourites in Japanese on my Xbox one. I've changed my region to japan and language to Japanese and a couple of my games (Fallout 76 and Minecraft) automatically changed with those updates. Most of my
games are for the 360 though so I don't know if it affects anything but they do not switch to japanese. These are games that I know are available in Japanese (Final fantasy 13 and Borderlands 1 through 2). Is there a way to download the original/Japanese dub
for such games? I don't want to have to pay for the games all over again just to play them in a different language -_-

Okay thank you so much! I honestly didn’t even think of checking the in game menu for ffxiii which was stupid of me 😅.

It sucks that i cant play a lot of my games in japanese then but at least now i know for sure that it cant be helped! ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Thank you for reaching out to us on the forums with this question, if you have already changed your consoles region and language and it has affected some games but not all of them then this is possible because those other games do not support this. I understand
that some games are available in the language but it is possible that you will have to purchase that version of the game separately in order to play them in Japanese.

It’s “possible” that I’ll have to purchase the games again or 100% that’s a fact? I just don’t see how i can’t download the language like it asked me to do on fallout 76 just because the other games are 360 games

Unless the game supports ingame menu language changes changing the language of a console doesnt affect the language of a xbox 360 game

Language independence is only an xbox one feature to allow you to download the japanese language pack

Some games do allow it but again dependa on the titles

Language independence is based only on your xbox one console setting this does not apply to xbox 360

Final fantasy should have it in the ingame menu as alot of them do

You will have to ask square for the exact instructions usually options

Also even if you migrate the region to japan you may run into region locks which are included with xbox 360 triple A titles

You will have to purchase content in the japanese region ii it allows you

Your best option buy the japaneese disks since the xbox ine is a region free bluray player

It was designed thisbway back in the 360 days to prevent mistaken purchses which ironically still happened because people ignore the primary language of their region

Xbox 360 games.rely on the marketplace settings not account regions

This preventa people from breakung the marketplace region locks to get content they arent supposed to
