Wanted to transfer game saves to USB from old 360 to new 360, but USB un-formatted itself?

Last night, I used a SanDisk 16GB USB drive to transfer over a couple of game saves from my old 360 to new one. I followed every single step on this website, and the xbox formatted the USB successfully and transferred the games. It even changed names from
"USB Storage Device" to "Unit Memory", so everything was working fine. I moved all the saves into the USB, they downloaded successfully, and I was able to see them in the USB. I unplugged the USB, set up the new Xbox, and tried transferring over the games...
but the USB un-formatted itself back to "USB Storage Device". I can't view the game saves at all, because whenever I click on the USB, it only gives me "Configure" and "Customize" options. So, I tried opening them on the old 360 again, and I can't even open
them there either. It just continues to say "USB Storage Device" and says it isn't formatted/configured. I tried playing one of the games that had it's save on the USB while the USB was plugged in, but it didn't bring up the saved games.

I contacted support last night but we didn't exactly find an answer. They told me to check from my PC what it's format was, and it says it's FAT32 which is what xbox should recognize... And whenever I choose the "Customize" option in the Xbox, and it shows
me the amount of storage I have, it's only showing 14.3GB. Before, it was showing 16GB. I believe I transferred about 2.5GB worth of games over (When I formatted the USB, it only showed 3.3GB was able to be transferred) so I have a feeling the files are still
there. I just have no way of accessing them. I also tried viewing them on pc with the "hidden items" box checked but I don't see anything. When plugged into the PC, the USB only shows 14.9GB/14.9GB of space available, and no files.

Does anyone have any clue as to why the USB didn't remain formatted, and is there anyway to recover the files? Even if I can somehow transfer them to PC and maybe re-format them on a new USB? I'm willing to try anything at this point, as long as my saves
are recoverable. My Skyrim and AC4 saves were on there... so I'm going to be pretty upset if they're gone for good.

    :)

As long as the usb device has been formatted, then any Xbox 360 can read them. I actually used a 16GB usb to transfer my game saves from my old hard drive to the new one i bought.

    Xbox 360 system transfer HELP

So I shared an Xbox 360 console with a sibling and we each had our own profiles. So I purchased a new 360 Slim and wanted to take everything associated with my account on the initial console (profile, achievements, game saves) to the Slim.

I transferred everything on a USB but although my profile and achievements transferred onto the USB and loads on the Slim, no game saves to be found.

What can I do to harvest the game saves from the original console without causing problems to my sibling's account and content on the original system?

Wanted to transfer game saves to USB from old 360 to new 360, but USB un-formatted itself?

(important: Plug USB into Pc immediately and copy everything into a folder so it's not lost do not format)

Ok so the FAT32 file system have a maximum file size limitation of 4GB so anything under 4.1GB in a single file can be transferred if it's over that it cannot for example 3 games that are 4GB can be but not a 4.1GB or over file so you can fill 16GB of files
that are a maximum of 4GB.

As for your saves they're small in size so they should be detected on new xbox if not copy all data onto PC and once it's all backed up format to fat32 again and copy only the saves no games and see if it picks them up then, other than that I don't know
sometimes the xbox operating system is weird and doesn't recognised certain USB drives.

P.S The reason it allows only 3.3GB is because FAT32 max file size is 4GB and the file system itself takes up 0.7 =3.3GB

How do I pull up the files from the USB? I've checked the "Hidden items" box already but I'm unable to view the saves at all on my PC. I'm using Windows 8 so I think the Hidden items is the same thing as Hidden files in Windows 7.

So basically, if I'm able to view the files on PC, I can just copy/paste them into a folder, then reformat the USB through the Xbox again? Then plug into PC, drag over files, then back to the Xbox, right? Sounds easy enough, that is if I can find a way to
    view my files haha.

I'm officially the world's dumbest person. I used the wrong USB this entire time.... Didn't realize I had picked up the 4GB SanDisk I had NEXT to the 16GB one, and used that instead. -_- No wonder I couldn't find the files... there were none lol. I'm thrilled
to say, my saves were there, safe and sound. They're now transferred successfully over to my new Xbox haha. Wow I have never felt this incredibly stupid before. Thank you for the help, regardless haha.

The WOT Xbox 360 save file was 2.6GB when it released...can imagine how big it is now. Not sure you can trim that down any.

Is it possible to transfer save files from the 360 to a USB stick (formatted for the Xbox) and then transfer those files to the new console?
