    Drivers causing an issue?

    I found the fix..

I spent most of 5 hrs online chatting to xbox support and microsoft support yesterday. This was driving me round the bend as it used to work but now didn't. We all thought it had something to do with windows 10 drivers in an update recently received. I am
due to contact them again today to resume the investigation, however, I have found the fix that works for me and allows me to power the controller via laptop usb and play the xbox one.

I disabled the controller in device manager. It works!

It powers the controller and allows you to use it, after connecting your controller to the xbox usb, plug in laptop/pc usb.

    :)

Connecting PC to XBox One through HDMI and controlling the PC through XBox Controller

Obsessive Power is right, you can only send video/audio thru HDMI, any kind of controls can't be changed simply by plugging it in to your xbox. You could however plug your Xbox one controller in your PC via USB. On

are the official drivers. Have fun Want to power your controller via PC USB? :)

Are all Xbox One Controllers going to be Wireless?

    Yes, but also no.

Every Xbox One controller is wireless. However, when you plug it in via USB it becomes wired and sends the signal via wire instead of wireless (while also charging batteries, if you are using the charge-pack - or in the case of your question, it's using the power via cable instead of the batteries).

This is in contrast to how Xbox 360 controllers work. X360 has both wireless and wired. An X360 wireless controller when plugged in via USB is still sending the signal wireless, but is getting power via the USB. This is why you can't plug an Xbox 360 wireless controller via USB into your computer and have it work, because the controller is still sending a wireless signal.

This makes the Xbox One controllers great for both Xbox One and PC gaming, because you don't need to buy a 'wired' controller for it to work on the PC, you can just plug it in via USB and it'll send the signal via USB instead. I'm really glad Microsoft did this.

XBOX SERIES X and Play and Charge Kit

    Hi,

    • Yes, you can connect the controller via the USB cable to a PC. The cable sends data as well as power.
    • You don't need batteries. The USB cable sends power and data, As long as the controller is connected to the USB port on the PC will power the controller.

Manette xbox non reconnus par mon ordinateur[Translation-Xbox controller not recognized by my computer]

Sorry to hear you are experiencing these issues. Are you connecting your controller via a USB cable or wirelessly? I had a similar issue where it would not install the drivers for my controller and it turned out the USB port I was using was not powerful
enough to power the controller. If you are using a USB cable perhaps try a different USB port on your PC perhaps one located at the back of the pc and not the ones on the front.

XBox controller disconnects from PC or stops responding

Hi Keith, There are two ways to connect an Xbox controller to a PC: with a USB cable or via Bluetooth.

    Connect with a USB cable

Plug one end of the USB cable into the USB port on your PC.

Plug the other end of the USB cable into the USB port on your Xbox controller.

The controller should automatically connect to your PC.

    Connect via Bluetooth

Make sure your Xbox controller and PC have Bluetooth.
    Activate Bluetooth on your PC.

Press and hold the pairing button on the Xbox controller for 3 seconds.

The controller should appear in the list of Bluetooth devices on your PC.

Select the Xbox controller from the list and click "Connect."

Let me know if the information is still useful.

    Sincerely,
    Marvina.

Xbox one controller stops working randomly

Please try to troubleshoot the issue with these instructions:

Remove the batteries from the controller and for testing purposes, find a Micro USB data cable. Make sure it's a real data cable, as phone charging cables often only have the power lines connected, but no data lines.

Connect the controller via that USB cable directly to the console and check if the controller works.

If the controller works flawlessly with the cable, unplug the USB cable from the console and plug it into a USB power bank or a USB charging plug. Check if your controller still works. If the controller works without problems while being powered via USB,
    then your batteries are faulty.

If the controller fails to work via direct USB connection or being powered through the USB, it might be defective and you need to get it repaired/replaced through

Xbox 360 Wireless Controller with the Gaming Receiver for PC and the "Play and Charge Kit" does not work together

"The USB cable is only useful insofar as providing power to charge the battery for the controller, but it does not provide a data connection."

Ok. I know that. I do not want data connection via USB cable. I want through the Xbox 360 Wireless Gaming Receiver for Windows (www.amazon.com/.../B000HZFCT2)
that I bought to connect to PC via usb . And the name of the kit is called "Play & Charge". That's a lie from Microsoft? The player has to stop playing and charge your control? This also happens on Xbox?
