Want to change My Gamertag from dogtag19 to Dogtag19 (changing the lower case d to upper case ...

Hi There,

I was asked by xbox support to post my question here.

Im looking at changing my gamertag from having a lower case d to and upper case D.

Im not actually changing my gamertag, rather amending it, i have tried to change it myself but seeing as i am already using this gamertag it says it is unavailable and i cant use it.

I cant justify spending 8 pounds or however much it is now just to amend my gamertag from to .

Was hoping you would be able to help and simply make my lower case d to and upper case D, without disrupting any of my roaming data, settings and save files, friends and acheivments etc etc

a few of my friends have recently changed their names to 'Beasty o ....' so i tried to change the lower case 'b' and 'd' in my name to upper case 'B' and 'D' but it says that it is taken. i dont want to change it to something different then change it
to '' but ii dot have £14 to throw at somthing that is just going to change two letters to upper case. i was wondering if i could just edit my name or one free name change so i can change it to something different then pay to change it back.

 

Gamertag letter change

I've been trying to change the lower case "d" in my gamertag but when I type my gamertag with a capital "D" it tells me it's already in use, what can I do to just change the first letter to a capital letter?

 

Why don't you just change the numbers in your name? For example: Dogtag18, Dogtag34. That would work if you're willing to sacrifice 19 in the name, of well your name.

 

i would but 19 is for my birthdate, hence i had it would rather not change it, again cant justify it just to get my capital letter

Xbox support send you here when they don`t have an answer or only have the answer that you don`t want to hear.

You need to pay to change any part of your tag, even if its just to a capital letter.

No one here can do anything to help you.

 

It'd actually cost double that, at £16. You'd have to change your gamertag to something else and then back to Dogtag19.

Not worth the price to just get a capital letter.

As OWEN said though, support has steered you wrong. It's getting a little frustrating to always have to correct the official support people as they continue to give the wrong information.

 

Also, Dogtag19 is already taken by another user. So it'd be pointless. You could try Dogtags19, as no one seems to have that one.

 

Dogtag19 amd dogtag19 are the exact same user.

That is the issue. Capitalisation is not seen as a different gamertag.

 

If you change it, make sure to add spaces too.....

Same person in a search either way is a good point, not an issue.
