Want my minecraft purchase on my Xbox 360 to work on my Xbox on

how can I make work my minecraft from my 360 to work on my Xbox on. Did I really havé to rebuy it completly ?

ok so i have minecraft on my 360 and i want to upgrade it to the xbox one edition will i not be able to play it on the 360 if i upgrade it my son loves playing minecraft on 360 so i really don't want to see him lose it on the 360 so really my question would
be

i upgrade to xbox one edition of minecraft do i lose the rights to play it on the 360?

I bought Minecraft Xbox 360 and sold my xbox like another poster on here to fund the Xbox One purchase. I was still able to buy Minecraft Xbox One Edition for £3.49, although I wasn't able to recover my impressive 360 Minecraft world, which I put 2 years
into building!

 

Since the game is not backwards compatible, you would need to purchase the One version in order to play on the One.

 

There was a discount to upgrade, but that offer ended in February. You would have to pay full price unless it goes on sale.
