Another massive Manga / Anime title coming to the XBox ONE.

A fighting game starring everyone's favourite rubber pirate (yeah... he's a rubber pirate... it's a Japanese thing).

Early June 2016 this fighter drops on the XBox ONE.

Talk about value for money. You'll get months and months of time out of this thing trying to figure out what's going on!

ファーストゲームのローカライズについて

英語で投稿してく さいとの指示がありますが、日本語読める方もいると

思いますので日本語で書きます。

forza horizon2およびchariotのローカライズについてです。

日本の普及台数に対して、ローカライズしていた けてるのはありがたいのですが、

どう考えても製品レベルのローカライズが施されているとは思えません。

日本に本体を発売したわけですから、しっかりとサポートして下さい。

製品のチェックは品質まで確認して下さい。

これからパッチでローカライズの内容は修正されるのでしょうか。

また、今後のソフトについて品質は改善される可能性はあるのでしょうか。

Yeah, it's Multi-platform. Not really an "Xbox One Game". But its good MS is making baby-steps to rebuilding thrown away potential.

 

"One Piece" is the biggest Manga / Anime in Japan so it's nice to see it joining "Naruto" and "Dragonball Z", both of which are great games, especially if you're into the series.

Apparently it's the biggest selling manga of all time having sold 320 million copies... and there are only 120 million people in Japan.

That means that every person there must have at least 2 copies.

 

Or sales are not just Japan?

 

Oops, yeah that's right.

Overall sales of 320 million.

That being said there will still be people in Japan who've got more than 2 copies.

 

So this is a great game that is trying hard to not be great.

No English Dub. All Japanese with English subtitles.

No introduction or explanation as to the background of Luffy, his comrades, their motivations etc... Just dumps you into the "Paramount War" which is the Marineford Story Arc that occurs many episodes into the "One Piece" Saga.

Pretty steep asking price. It took me a while to find a copy that wasn't asking anywhere from £10 - £20.00 above standard new release price.

Also the game starts with reduced options available. No Training Mode, no Free Battle, all that's there is "Paramount War" and that can seem very confusing.

Play the Paramount War and it's not long before you are advised "Unlocked All Modes". So play it to that point because it will also give you a tutorial on how combat works.

Once this happens you've access to Free Mode, Online Battles, VS Wanted Battles (where you'll have a large amount of bounties to collect by defeating the enemies on the Wanted Poser) and Pirate Flag Battle which is like an online "Turf War".

What we have here is a decent fighting game with some over the top visuals and supers.

I've noticed a few reviews that complain that early battles can be won by spamming one move.

Then they complain that later there's a severe difficulty spike. This is what happens if you've only managed to master spamming one move.

So if you like quirky Japanese games and good fighting games with over the top supers and ultimates then this game could be something you would enjoy.

I would avoid buying it digitally unless you are a die hard "One Piece" fan who's going to immediately love controlling their favourite characters in a pivotal story arc.

But it's a good fighter and there aren't very many of these on the XBox ONE.

So there you go. Looks amazing. Plays amazing when you finally understand what's going on but before then it doesn't do a good job of welcoming the new player.
